Electric Breast Pump

I am looking for recommendations on electric breast pumps. What has worked well for you (or what hasn't)?

I really liked the Medela electric pump. It was fast and after about 5 days it wasn't painful. I went back to work and used it at work for about 10 months. I found it much cheaper online instead of retail with a little research. If you are unsure about breastfeeding, I have also heard good things about the medela you can rent from the hospital, it isn't expensive and let's you know if you want to go that route or not.
Good luck and stick with it, at first it was painful but it does get much easier.

Hi D.....

I tried those hand-pump ones one time and refused to waste my time and energy with them. So I purchased the Medela "pump in style" electric pump and loved it. It was a couple hundred dollars but well worth it.

They say you shouldn't use a 'used' breast pump however I would give mine to you if you'd like. I no longer need it and am trying to figure out what to do with it. I'm a very clean person and I took good care of it. If you're interested, let me know.

Take care and good luck,
M.

definitely go with the medela pump - it's called pump in style. it is very durable - i went back to work after my first too, and this thing saved me. i bought several others first, and ended up spending too much $ when i could've bought the best first. it's expensive, abt. $300, but it is soooo worth it!

I found for my two children and with working... the Medela Pump in Style worked great... my best suggestion is to look on Bizate.com or Ebay for this pump... you can get a brand new one for quite a bit less than buying it at a store! Good luck and best wishes!

Hi ... I just had a baby girl in June of this year and I've been using the Medela "Pump in Style". It works well does alot better than the Gerber Manual pump that I bought. They're sold at Babies R Us but you can also order at http://www.motheringfromtheheart.com/catalog/9.html where you can also order additional parts!

Hey D.. I used the Medela breast pumped--the newest version--and I loved it! It has different levels of suction so that you can adjust to what feels comfortable for you and it comes with containers to hold and refrigerate your milk. I would highly recommend it to you.

The pump in style (regular/not advanced) worked for me. I bought it for baby #1 in April of 2003. I used it heavily for 12 months and I am on month 6 of my second baby. I work 60 hour weeks and both were exclusively mommy's milk fed. So I strongly recommend this pump and can vouch for it's durability. The only reason I don't have the advanced is becuase it wasn't available when I was buying mine.
