my 6 yo had an ear infection it didn't clear up, she was treated with a second round of stronger anti biotics, she finished that a week ago and tonight at bedtime said her ear hurt. I gave her tyleol and heated up one of those neck wrap things to lay her ear on, I went back to check on her and she said there was a "bubble" in her ear. I asked if it popped thinking like when you are in an airplane, and she sort of said yah that it was better. obiviously i need to talk to the dr, but it was late at night and didn't seem to be an emergancy but now i am wondering what is going on in there and if the "bubble" is ok Any ideas?? Could this be the fluid? the way she described it made me think of a bubble that was rising through her ear canal until it came up to the outer ear and popped.
Look into taking her to a chiropractor, someone who can do Cranial Massage therapy as well. You want someone that can not only help with the drainage in the head but can realign the spine as well. For total healing having a spine that is properly aligned is a big help.
Keep her off milk for a while.
Recurrent ear aches and infections can be a sign of adrenal fatigue. Especially if there is dark or back wax... and docs say no infection present but child has pain. There could also be ringing.... again- an adrenal fatigue /low aldosterone sign.

When I was little I spent literally 10 hours a day in the pool or lake. My family loved the water. This lead to numerous ear infections so I feel your daughter's pain. When I was about 8 or 9 I had an ear infection that wouldn't go away I had two rounds of medicine that had to be taken orally because my ear was so swollen. After the two rounds (I called my mom to double check) I still had the infection and of couse I was still swimming with my head above the water. :) Weird enough the chiropractor told my mom to bring me in for an adjustment and it actually helped my ear infection. Something with being out of alignment made the infection worse so the medicine was as effective as it should have been. To this day I SWEAR by the chiropractor and go for all of my aches and pains before I go to the doctor. He really helped a ton with my hips during my last pregnancy.

If she is having reoccuring ear infections then they need to keep an eye on it. If the problem does not get better then I hope the doctor will put some tubes in her ears. I hope she feels better soon.
you need to get her checked by a good ent, it probably isnt serious, but there are really serious possibilites in the area. my son had a cholesteatoma,,, google it if you want, scary, thank goodness my pediatrician saw it. we went to 3 of the best ents around, none of them could believe that my ped saw it. he got it removed and tg he is ok, but its potentially really serious. just saying. even a regular ear infection can become brutal. i had one so bad that wouldnt go away, as an adult. and i ended up crying, in pain, on 5 different meds, steroids, had a reaction to one of the meds and got this crazy rash all over, and the whole thing lasted so long. and i couldnt hear on that side for months. and it really really hurts so much. so... i would def get her seen soon if it doesnt go away ... good luck
when mine had fluid they were to little to tell me. my guess is that is fluid. one way she can tell and she is old enough to tell you fluid sounds like you are hearing underwater. ask her if that is how that ears sounds when you talk to her if she says yes its fluid
I have chronic sinus problems and often feel a congested pressure around my ears when I have a cold. What helps me (other than decongestant and pain killers) is lying down with the congested ear up and using heat and massage around the ear area. I use and electric back massager and it usually helps the congestion drain some. It also helps the massage by hand around the ear.
I think the suggestion about the chiropractor is also good. When I am congested I feel the muscles in my neck and shoulders get tight. Sometimes an adjustment is needed to get everything back into alignment. Fro me it is important to catch this before is gets too bad or I end up loosing sleep which makes it all worse. Using a stick on heat wrap, pain killer and/or decongestant all help me especially at night.
My first thought was draining, only because with my son's last two ear infections he had tons of draining. It just so happened that I got an ear infection the same time as his first and the draining was killing me, I can't imagine how much it was hurting him. We do chiro adjustments weekly and they check his ears each time - they were able to tell me when the draining was happening, when the ear was/wasn't healed. Good luck and hope she's better soon!
