My whole life I feel like I have been searching for my "purpose" in life.I was raised with the understanding that God knew me even before I was born and had a purpose for me.My question is this, how do I know how to go about recieving what Gods purpose is for me without clouding it with my own agenda?I wrote in previously with a question on wether or not to have another baby.I have always wanted to do foster care or adopt,I feel like I have the ability to love somebody else's child just as much as I would my own.My husband say's I have this strong need to help other people and that's one way of doing that.I am just afraid to start something meaningful and fail. I don't want to disappoint anyone. I also have a 14 month old baby girl that is my life now.How do you fit anything else into your life with out family near by or child care available?I can't seem to find anyone that wants to babysit that's not very young.I feel like I always try to put too many eggs in one basket inturn becoming this rambling basket case!I guess I am asking for any advice, comments,or suggestions on fostering, adoption, and or doing somthing meaningful with my life that can have a positive impact even on one child or person in this world.Thankyou for putting up with my long question.RachaelF

God gives everyone certain gifts. Pray and ask Him to reveal to you what yours are and how He wants you to use them. Make sure that you spend regular time with God, whether it be going to church, praying, reading the Bible, meditating on His Word, etc... The more time you spend with God, the better understanding you'll have of His purpose for your life. Don't be afraid to step out on faith. Even if you make a bad decision, God will work it out for you. "All things work together for the good of them who love the Lord.." Stay obedient to His Word and you will be blessed! Stay encouraged!

You are so correct when you say,"God has a purpose". I too have been looking into foster care, and depending on where you are from(I will check your location), I have great agency's for you to contact. I also came across a great web site, so email me at ____@____.com reading your post, for a second I told myself,"This sounds like me". I have a 18 month old girl, married almost 5 yrs, just turned 28, goof ball, emotional roller coaster at times, but a wonderful person, friend, wife, mother, and always laughing. This soundds just like you. I have a private daycare in my home, and let me tell you one thing.....You always have time for everyone. I watch 3 kids plus my daughter, and I feel like I could handel two more, so why not add another child being a foster and have another baby.Good luck.

I am in a similar situation. I don't know if you are familiar with Joyce Meyer, but she is a fantastic Bible teacher who broadcasts all over the world (joycemeyer.org). She says to pray and then take a step forward in the path you want to go. Keep praying and seeking God and He will direct your footsteps. Not everyone gets a clear, billboard sign, "calling." You go where your talents and desires are, step by step, and God will direct you. Sometimes He may stop you in your tracks and point you somewhere else, but that will be obvious. Don't be afraid to pursue your dreams. You sound like a conscientious mom. Why wouldn't you be a great mom to another child? You would be giving a child who would otherwise have nothing and little chance for a meaningful life, a great life with you and your family.....and a relationship with God. I say, if you have the heart for it and the finances to support another child, then by all means, do it!

well it's sounds to me like you are doing a lot with your life!
You should give yourself more credit, stay @ home moms work very hard especially with little ones. I don't know about your little one but mine is almost two yrs. old and he runs me all day long. not to mention house work and laundry. I was raised with the same religious beliefs and when you have such a big heart you want to help, help, help. But I went through something like this in the past month and I finally decided to just take it easy, maybe this is what god has planned for your life right now. But if you feel you need to do more just pray about it. Maybe you could volenteer @ you church nursery, or somewhere else. I say church because while you are watching someone elses kid someone will be watching yours close by. You get a break and you have helped someone. Not to mention you are serving God by letting those kids parent/s have fellowship.
Good Luck hope that helped
I think adoption and fostering are a WONDERFUL idea if you have the energy, if you do YOU GO GIRL lol

First R., God does not always reveal our purpose to us because he made us for HIS purpose not our own. Raising a little girl is the most important thing you can be doing and in time as you need God will reveal step by step what he needs you to do. Us woman are not always patient in the waiting area. Put your heart, mind and thoughts in his hands and let him guide you during this time. I am always humbled by getting literally on my knees and talking with him. As for a sitter, do you know any other families that may want to barter for babysitting time? We are military and travel alot and never have been close enough to have family nearby, so I got together with other moms and dads and we took turns for nites out and kept each other kids. It was great because our kids kept each other entertained. You can also look at the local colleges they have students interested in part time care. Also I saw on www.craigslist.com a local website for richmond a couple of college aged girls looking for babysitting...I hope this helps. K.
