We are military, and we have had very good luck going to the housing office on base. Lots of time when people first move to an area they stay in the accomodatitons on base while they are looking for a house. I usually look in the papers, too, so be sure to include the MacDill Air Force Base newspaper when you start figuring out where to advertise. Best of luck to you!

Hi H.,
My husband and I are looking for a house and when we look we usually look under craigs list and the flyer. My Fav. web-site to look under is realtor.com
Hope that you have luck!

We probably looked at over 30 rental homes when we came down here in March...went through 3 realtors, Craig's list and newspaper and ended up renting from a private ad in the paper (maybe The Flyer?). What we found was realtors only wanted to show properties that they listed. They don't get much commission from rentals, so they hate showing them (lot of work for little money, high gas costs...from my friend, a realtor on the East coast). I would definitly put it on Craig's list with as many pictures as you can, put it in The Flyer and on The Flyer.com and the local paper. Going through a realtor is still a good idea since there are so many homes for rent. I think the rental fee is like $200, so it would be worth it. Remember that there are so many places for rent. Our home is in a gated community w/clubhouse/pool, fenced yard, 4 bedrooms, screened porch (everything I was looking for). Used to be rented for $1550/month, but they lowered to $1300. They have to contribute to their mortgage a few hundred bucks a month, but at least they aren't eating the whole mortgage.
Good luck!

Hi H.,
We are looking for a house to rent in the next month or so. Can you email me with the location and price? We have been looking on Craigslist and the Flyer.
Thanks,
Susanne
