Doctor Advice for OB/GYN

I'm having my 1st baby and don't have a doctor yet. I live in Colleyville but will want to have my baby in Fort Worth at Harris Downtown or Baylor All Saints. I've heard nothing but good things about Dr. Laura Bradford, but she's booked. They would like to schedule me with someone else in her practice: PattyAnn Hardt but she is a 1st year doctor which makes me very nervous. Has anyone heard of her or have other good recommendations for FW OB/GYN similar to Bradford? Thanks for your help!

So What Happened?

Thanks everyone for your help and great advice. I went ahead with an appt w/Dr. Hardt yesterday and really liked her. I do feel alot more comfortable that she is in the same practice as Robbins and Zwernemann (who were also both booked at the time of my 1st call). I'm 12 weeks along and so far so good! If anyone has been to Dr. Hardt or heard anything from others about her, please let me know. All the best to you all! I think you're great!

I go to Dr. Robert Zwernemann who is in the same practice as Bradford. He delivered my little girl back in January. I would bring a list of questions to every appointment and he was patient and would sit and talk with me until every single one was answered. My sister flies in once a year from Italy just to go to Dr. Z and a close friend of mine recently started going to him as well. Bonus: His wife is a pediatrician in Southlake. Best of luck to you!

I see and LOVE Dr. Bradford. She delivered my little girl. But, Dr. Robbins at the same awesome is GREAT as well. You can't go wrong with anyone at that office! Plus - Dr. Bradford may end up delivering your little one anyway.

Hey there!

I went to that same obgyn practice and I cannot tell you how great I think they are! All of them! First of all their walls are filled with awards for their achievements and are rated the best in DFW, which put me at ease when making my final decision on which obgyn to go with. I actually had Dr.Zwernemann but when it came down to delivery time Bradford was the one on call and delivered me. I loved them both!

I would highly recommend their practice for sure. All of the doctors there have an outstanding rep. I would personally recommend Zwernemann. One of the coolest docs you'll meet!

Another recommendation I have is Dr. Karen Mosely. She delivered my first born 13 yrs ago and I remember vividly how comfortable she made me feel and how she took such great care of me the entire pregnancy. I was considered an "at risk pregnancy" as I was 16 at the time.

Anyways, hope this helps!

Good luck!

I LOVE my OB/GYN: Cynthia Robbins. Her office is very near Downtoen Ft. Worth's (what use to be called) Harris Methodist. She delivered my first baby and 2 of my sister's (soon to be another one). She always makes me feel very comfortable and like she has all of the time in the world to help you. She is wonderful and has many children of her own.

I have no idea who Dr. Bradford is, but my doctor is Elizabeth Stevenson. She's in the Baylor network and she is amazing. She's youngish (almost 40) and very easy to talk and relate to. She made my pregnancy experience comfortable and I would even say perfect. She really listens to what you say and talks to you without sounding "doctory," if that makes sense.

I used Dr Karen Benz DO in downtown Fort Worth. Her office is right across the street from Baylor All Saints and she delivers there also. She is very patient and listens to all your concerns. My seemingly textbook pregnancy that went pear-shaped in the last two months was handled so well. I ended up delivering at 36 weeks, but she handled everything so well and I ended up with a healthy baby boy.

I see Dr. Bradford and you're right she is absolutly wonderful. I'm having my 2nd child and have on occassion seen the other Drs. in the practice and they seem great as well. I wouldn't be nervous about a new Dr.- a lot of times that's a good thing and she's in with a great group of Docs for reference.

I don't see where you're located, but I LOVE Dr. Jeff Livingston. He's with MacArthur OBGYN. So smart, gentle and head of the department at Baylor Irving. Trusted him with our lives.

I wouldn't be so nervous about the new doctor. The new doctors tend to have a fresh attitude about their practice and they are very eager to help you and they take the time that most doctors won't and they really really thrive to help each and every patient. Their passion is fresh. I have learned this from experience. I had a new doctor for me once and she wasn't burnt out by being overworked by the medical group. I also had a new fresh out of residency pediatrician for my boys for a period of time. It was the best! I know it seems nerve racking but give it a shot, you may be really impressed. Plus you may be getting in there with an amazing doctor and in a few years she will be so popular no one can get in to see her! But you will because you have been her patient from the begining :) They have to start somehwere.
