My husband and I aren't even trying yet to have baby number 2, but each time we have had a pregnancy scare, we get so disappointed that it ends up being negative. This has happened twice already since our daughter has been born. Does anyone else have this same problem? Also, are there any women out there who use Fertility Awareness Method for birth control?

What can I do next?

It took me about 6 years to get pregnant with my second child. We werent using any protection because we wanted a child. My second child wasnt born until the first one was 7 years old. I know the feeling of seeing a negative test and feeling that horrible disappointment. Good luck having that second child.

I use the FAM for birth control. I have used this since my daughter was born 2 1/2 years ago. It only took one time on this method to concieve our son when we decided we wanted another one. I have had great success with this method and I think it's a lot easier to do than most women think. I began using it when I realized that there was no form of birth control (besides condoms, and how fun are those in a marriage?) that didnt' give me bad side effects. It's funny, because I didn't even know I was using it until my doctor asked me what I was using, and I explained to her about knowing when I ovulate and so on. She then explained to me that I was using the Fertality Awareness Method. I've had much success and I really like the way it works.

My son is 7 months old and we've had one pregnancy scare since he was born. We too were disappointed that it was negative even though to don't plan on trying for #2 until sometime late next year. I think it is a natural reaction.

I have used the awareness method in the past. It helped me get pregnant, but I've never used it as a birth control method. The couple who taught it at the church I grew up at has 5 kids and they only wanted 2...and they teach it! :)

I know how you feel. I get disappointed everytime i see a negative but i just keep thinking god knows when it is time for me to have another one. I have tried fertility drugs too because i have PCOS and endometriosis but nothing helps. You just want to cry but you get up and keep trying for another one.
