Does anyone know of a diet pill that has worked for them? I have gotten one from a Dr. and they made me loopy. I have tried a few over the counter. My significant other just left this morning, on his way to Iraq and I want this year to better myself and my self confidence. I just need a bit of a boost. It has been a really hard day and I have been cleaning since I got up..(keeping myself busy). At least my house will be clean, right? That should make me feel better in and of it self? Anyway, sorry to babble but if you have any pointers for me regarding a diet pill that wont break the bank or make me feel weird, please let me know of the name. Thanks and Happy Valentines Day to everyone!

The only diet pill we ever tried was alli - and it was absolutely AWFUL! My friends and I have had much better luck with weight watchers - - especially in keeping it off!

Hope this helps!

I don't think there are any diet pills out there that actually work and are healthy for you. I hate to say it, but....I think good food and exercise are the way to go.

And anything else you can think of that will boost your self-confidence! Take care of yourself; this must be a stressful time.

I've tried alot of diet pills and none of them work. It all boils down to finding an eating and excercise plan that works for you. If you read the label on the back of most diet pills it will tell you to use "in addition to" healthy eating habits and excercise. Well, you can do that without taking the pills!

I'll tell you what is working for me and maybe it will work for you: I watch my calorie intake and I do portion control. That way I can still eat what I want, but not pig out =) When I eat breakfast, lunch or a snack, I try to keep whatever I'm eating under or close to 100 calories. Yogurt, cheese stick, 100 cal. snacks....etc. Then I walk on our treadmill and watch how many calories I'm burning as I walk. If you don't have a treadmill, go walking (at a brisk pace) or check out your local Y or fitness club.

I'm trying to focus on making a lifestyle change and not just "diet". I want to lose weight, but I want to KEEP it off. Good luck!

A big thank you to you and your husband for serving our country. May God bless you and your family during this difficult time. I saw a few people say forget the diet pills and I agree. Even though I myself would love to try something to make the 15 pounds I want to lose come off right now! How about exercise?! Not only is it the right and natural way to do it, it will make you feel so much better physically and emotionally. And right now, I bet you could use that. I joined a fitness place here in Woodbury in December and I love it! I feel so much better about myself. Some mornings I go in and I don't want to be there, I think of all the other things I need to do, etc. and when I leave, I'm so refreshed and ready to tackle the day. I highly recommend it! If you don't have the money to spend on a membership somewhere (the Y is a good value), there are so many things to do at home. Do you have Comast cable? They have lots of exercise things on Demand for free. This is a great time to better yourself, go for it with gusto. You'll feel so much better and will be able to handle this period so much easier. Don't get sucked into a magic pill, there not out there. If they were, America would all be thin, right?! Good luck to you. You can do it!!

I have tried a lot of different diets and diet pills. None really worked until I tried the 6 weeks body makeover. I ordered it off tv because it had a moneyback guarantee, and I thought it might work since it is personalized. I also was really wanting something to work cause my hubby was in the desert at the time. I had to wait a while for it to come in the mail, but then I tried it right away and by the time he got home I had lost like 18 pounds. I'm still doing the plan (even though it's way past 6 weeks - I started in Sept.) because I had more than 30# to lose. So far I've lost 58# as of last Monday. I only weigh myself on mondays. If you really can't see yourself dieting, then maybe try the Alli pills you can get at Walmart. They are kind of expensive, and you have to be careful not to over indulge in fatty foods, cause you WILL feel it. Good luck and God Bless!

i know a lady whos tried it all - every diet pill ever made. and shes still shaped like a pear, and if you ask me, has only gotten worse. in the past few years perhaps shes seen the light and now does walking every day (i believe)

there is no pill that will cure anyone's weight issues. the issue is not the weight but the eating and exersize habits of the person. if you want to better yourself, join exersize classes, a gym, whatever, and get your butt there, even if it means you can only do it for 10 minutes, i guarantee once you are there, you will make it a half hour or more.

if you, like me, dont live near an available gym, do as many things aroudn your house as you can. dance with your kids, lift them, lay on your back and hold your head up while they sit on your legs you know? holding your stomach muscles while you do that and its sorta like a crunch right?
sneak in little periods of running around outside or something.
i have a very hard time because i dont like to go outside especially in the winter, and we live in a rural area, so going to a gym isnt possible both financially and sensibly. LOL.
anyway, good luck, but dont trust or rely on diet pills. they arent the cure.
eat less, when you feel hungry, drink a FULL 8 ounce (which is equal to one cup) of water first. then decide if you are hungry. buy more fruits and vegetables, and though i have nothing against desserts and snacks, dont buy them at all, that will prevent you from eating them! :P works for me!
fruits, vegetables, WHOLE GRAINS - not enriched, not bleached, not wheat, WHOLE GRAIN - breads that dont include high fructose corn syrup, at least in the first 5 or 6 ingredients, and legumes, you know, beans. like black beans and split peas... they pretty much absorb the flavor of whatever they are in, so i use them in chili and even on my salad!
good luck!

First of all, please thank your significant other for his service to our country for us. Also thanks to you for your sacrifice.
5 years ago I went on ediets.com and did a low carb program for about 3 weeks, learned everything, canceled, and then kept doing what I learned. In 6 months I had lost 60 lbs and have kept it off.
One thing that helped was that I don't mind eating a lot of the same things so it was easier that way. I also love cheese and sour cream and could have that on everything. The most helpful thing was that I allowed myself to eat anything I wanted for lunch each Saturday. I would plan that meal all week :o)
Best Wishes,
J.

Hi Stacy,
First I want to say thank you for your answer yesterday, on my church question.
As far as diet pills, they aren't good for you, they can damage your heart among other organs in the body, and can affect the central nervous system. I too have said this is the year I am going to lose my baby fat, 20+ lb gain with each kid, three of them in seven years of being pregnant. Do you belong to a health club or know someone who does? I have been a member for the last nine years of one, and just last week, I started pushing myself harder than ever. I used to burn only 500 cals for each workout, for the last week, I've done 1,000. It's not easy, but if I don't stop for a break, I can do it in 2 hours. I am determined to wear skinny clothes before this Fall, Hopefully by mid-summer. With my membership, I can bring up to so many guests (don't remember how many), and I think it's up to 6x a month. If you are interested, let me know. It would be fun to have someone to workout with. We can burn our fat together, lol.

Hi S.-
A lot of medical diet pills do have side effects-- don't take anything that hasn't been on the market at least 7 yrs-- that's about the time the bad info comes to light.
If you want a fun way to lose -- not break the bank- I help coach a nationwide online biggest loser challenge. It's only $29 for the entire 12 week classes. You get free sample pack with that and can win up to $599 (one of my assoc. just did that that I coached!- another is a contender in the second group) The coaching is free. We work with you one on one by phone and email. You can either email me directly( I'll send you photos of my assoc and info, or you can go right to the site
challengevictor.com
The next 12 week session starts on Feb. 18 It's a day class- noon cst. If that doesn't work-- all the classes are available online via replay mp3. YOu download class material- print em out- and we highlight and teach. You enter weights, measures and some photos periodically, fill out a pre-questionaire, we profile you, you work with your coach (me)and learn healthy choices for life. We do talk about a product line but no one has to use it (the sample pack)-- we work with anyone and everyone regardless.
If you live local to me-- New Brighton MN- I'm doing live classes starting March 10- evening?? It doesn't say where you live.
Anyway-- the biggest thing is Way to go girl!! Attitude and desire is the biggest hurdle/decision. YOur husband will appreciate your effort and you'll feel like a million bucks - healthy and vital. Don't ever give up on yourself-- I almost did and now I'm healthy, energetic,& in a bikini at 48!

About me- 48 yo perfusionist, wellness coach pt- and mom to amazing 7 yo twin girls.

Hi,
I run a home business and have found doing our Transitions Lifestyle System was the only way I was able to lose some stubborn pounds (15)....It's based on low-glycemic index eating/foods. we do have supplements for the "boost". You can check these out on my web portal.
marketamerica.com/livewellvet
Our supplements are Thermochrome with Hoodia, Fat Conversion inhibitor, Carbohydrate Absorption inhibitor and CLA
I took the supplements originally to give me a boost but now just follow the system of low glycemic index foods , for the most part, to keep it off
Any questions let me know!! Good luck.

Hi S.,

My heart goes out to you. It must be hard to see your husband heading overseas. You are smart to connect into a community for support!

In response to your question about diet pills, I can offer some help. You are welcome to call me or email me (info below) and I can give you an overview of the program I work with. It is called Transitions, and is based on the glycemic index. Have you heard of it? With this program we teach people that there is a lot you can do to lose weight just by changing your eating habits and making different choices. In addition there are some supplements that improve your results. One is called Fat Conversion Inhibitor, and it helps to prevent calories from being stored as fat. Another one is called Carbohydrate Absorption Inhibitor, and it helps to maintain blood sugar levels, and is great for people who really love their carbs. (A lot of carbohydrate foods play havoc on your blood sugar, which then causes you to store more carlories as fat and to have more cravings.)

That's a quick overview. Feel free to contact me:

____@____.com

Or you can go to my site for more information:
1. Go to www.newvitalitywellness.com
2. Click the Health & Nutrition link.
3. Click the Weight Management link.

And by the way, I run support groups that meet to do the program together. I'm looking for people I can train to run the programs. It's just a once a week commitment, and it is great fun. Anyone looking for something to do part time... it's very rewarding and a great way to make some extra income.

All the best!

If you can afford it join a YMCA or other exercise club. It will help with all of the stress you are under now. You can take some great classes or just work out on your own and might meet some new friends. The YMCAs have free childcare for your younger child too and classes and special events for both kids. Your daughter can even work out with you after the teen orientation. The yoga classes might be helpful for your stress. Best wishes!

Why Diet Pills. Having tried several of them after gaining weight during the last 3 years I have found sensible diet and excerise is the only thing that will remove the excess weight and keep it off. Diet pills will let you remove weight and keep your self in stealth mode but the effects soon wear off and the weight comes back on easier each time you loose it. You also said that your significant other just left for Iraq which I am sure that Stress is a major part of your life right now. Stress will put weight on instead of taking it off. Find a good outlet for your stress, that will help take the lbs off also. Good Luck.. it is taken me almost 2 years to loose 20 lbs but I am gradually loosing the 40+ pounds that I have gained. Also, be sure to have another physical to make sure that there isn't something physical that is making you gain weight. Diet pills are a crutch.. you can do it without them! You Go Girl.. we know that you can do it!
