My babysitter is having her baby! And what would and should be a very joyous occasion for us is tainted by the fact that I can't seem to find any reliable regular day-time sitters for my little man.
Here's a little info on us;
Jameson: 7 month-old, active, very friendly, mostly-happy-go-lucky baby, thankfully no stranger-anxieties, he crawls and is pulling himself up to standing, he's strong and long and smart. He loves having other babies and people around and is animal friendly (we have a big dog, a cat and saltwater fish tanks, as do some of our friends and he is very receptive and not aggresive toward them).
Mom & Dad: My husband is a self-employed sub-contractor. I work in East Pompano Beach for an A/C contractor. We work from 7AM to 4-5PM and would like to find someone who can watch/play/cuddle/learn with Jameson during this time from Monday-Friday.
Currently my husband's grandmother is watching Jameson and is flat-out exhausted by the time I come home and I'm concerned that she could get hurt and both Jameson and her would not be discovered for a few hours. She, of course, denies this but I still worry about her, she's not getting any younger and he's not getting any lighter. :)
Are you willing to consider a daycare agency??? If so, The Joshua's Tree in East Pompano has been up,running, and reputable for over 20 years...let me know if you more info!!!

Hi. Have you found a sitter for your little guy? I am recently unemployed, I was working for an insurance company for the passt 4 years. I moved to florida from long island new york 6 years ago. On long island I worked as a direct care counselor for teen unwed moms, in a group home situation, during the day we helped with all the infants so that the girls could attend school and jobs. I love kids, I have four grown children, 26 20 16 and 17. I'm happy healthy outgoing, love babies! I also worked as a preschool assistant for a few years in new york. If you still need a sitter, I am reliable, have references, and willing to come to your home and care for your little jameson.
You said your husband is a contractor? My husband is also a contractor, working in broward dade and palm counties.

I use a wonderful in home daycare that is located in Pompano(Dixie between Atlantic and Copans). The owner Juanita Roberts is the sweetest lady and she loves my daughter, who has been going there since December. She has a very detailed schedule and also provides all the meals (which she cooks herself) and snacks. She also writes a daily report on their behavior. I found her on the Broward County website http://www.dcf.state.fl.us/childcare/
