Dentist Taking 3 Year Old

We are looking for a dentist for my niece's 3 year old. Having a hard time finding one and the child is showing signs of a real toothache (sensitive to foods, pain when biting on one location) there is no sign of a cavity that I can see. But they are having a hard time finding a dentist to take that age as a new patient. They live in the North County/Lambert Airport area.

What can I do next?

We used to live in Florissant and we took our boys to Dental Kids. It is on Lindbergh in Florissant. Friendly staff and they take little kids. Our son went for his first routine check up and cleaning at 2 yrs old. They will take them before they even have teeth! But do your research and just call around to whoever your insurance accepts. Most dentists will take children. We have now moved and we take our kids to Family Dentistry in St. Peters. Hope this helps.

Hi, C.! I have THE most wonderful dentist in the world! LOL I've seen small children visit him as a patient, but I can't tell you if he has an "age limit" for new patients. I am what you might call a 48 year old "dentist wuss"...extremely frightful of dentists from a bad experience I had when I was younger, and when I found him, I thought he was a God send! LOL He is THE most gentle dentist I have ever seen in my life, he's very mild-mannered, very attentive to your specific needs and concerns, and accepts most insurance plans as far as I'm aware...I've had some pretty "funky" dental plans, and he's accepted all of them. His name is Dr. Eric Hotze, his number is ###-###-####. His office is located near I-270 and Howdershell (McDonnell) in Hazelwood, which is not far from Lambert Airport. He's across from the Prairie Commons branch of the public library, just down the street from the McDonald's on Howdershell...if your niece knows this area, she'll probably know around where it is. Good luck to your niece and her precious little one! :O)

Candace Wakefield of the Children's Dental Zone sees 3 year olds, no problem, and she's up in north county as well. She's really great.

Our dentist took our kids at age 3. His name is Dr. Richard O'Brien ###-###-####. He's not a pediatric dentist and his office is all the way down in South City (on Hampton a block south of the Target at Hampton and Chippewa). He's older and pretty good with the kids, maybe as a last resort.
