Daughter's 3Rd Birthday and Grandma's Birthday
My little girl is going to be turning 3 in July. My mom and my daughter share the same birthday. My mom is flying out her to Vegas from California to spend their birthday together and I want to do something special for both of them. If anybody can give me some ideas of how to combine the two birthdays together I would greatly appreciate it. Even any indoor Birthday places would be helpful since the weather here in July is torture! Thanks for you feedback!!

What about a tea party. I have heard about great party favors and goodies that are all centered around tea parties. It's fun and girly. I just used the idea to make party favors for a women's fundraiser event. You can do a google search and get lots of ideas. Good luck!

What about having a tea party? You could go all out with dress-up: hats, gloves, feather boas, bow ties and black hats for boys, etc. and make it fun and appropriate for both 3 year-olds and grandma.

Hi J.. I have read the responses and I agree that a "tea party" would be totally fun. But before going to tea, maybe you could go to the salon and get your mom and daughters nails done and get their hair done up in cute updo's. Then get a few hats, and boas and some costume jewelry and then go get pictures done of just the two of them on "their day" By this time both of them may be tired, so a nice nap would be in order.

Hi J.,
Neither one of them needs a "party" except for maybe a special dinner with close family. Then, you can have cake, balloons and presents for both. You could rent a room at a local cheap hotel that has a pool if you don't have one yourself and then "party" at the pool.

A fancy tea party for all the ladies would be fun. If the grownups are game, everyone could bring a favorite teddy bear too.

What about a tea party? You can do it yourself or there are some places you can go to like Olivia's Doll House Tea Room. I have heard about a place that will come to your home and set it all up, Katies Victorian Tea Parties. If that's not your thing what about a pottery/painting party at the Artful Potter.
Good luck and enjoy whatever you decide to do.

hi...i am a grandma with a three year old grandaughter and even though we dont share the same birthday, nothing makes me happier than seeing her happy, laughing, smiling face! i would love a picture together!!! i would like being part of the celebration (and i think your mom should be) but would enjoy it more if the occasion revolved around her! whatever you plan to do...the greatest gift to grandma is seeing her beloved grandaughter happy!!! good luck, C.

I echo the salon, tea party then picture! If you want something more to the funny side.... at the Circus Circus casino they do fun portraits, with a 'green screen' and then add in the background. I can't explain this right! =) We have one where all my family is sitting in a 'boat' on 'lake mead' and a 'shark' is about to eat the boat. It doesn't sound as funny as it looks! =)they have some where you are 'riding a cougar!'we all have fond memories of taking that picture cuz what they had us look at was the employee who at that time was 'big' pregnant. SO my DH and Dad both clown around that they were scared of the pregnant woman! =) Anyway, the only problem we had with that is that for some reason my DD who is almost 4 now thinks it really happened. lol (She was about 13 or 14 months at the time.) Anyway, we just explain it to her over and over... Hope that gives you a funnier alternative!
