Has anyone ever used a service called Baby's Away to rent cribs, highchairs, etc when they travel to another state? We are traveling in March and the place we are staying does not have anything for babies. We have a 9 month old so it would be nice to have a few things. Anyone have any advice?

What can I do next?

I used Baby's Away when I took my then 1 year old to San Diego. I got the pack & play for sleeping and playing, a really nice stroller and a high chair. They set everything up at my Dad's house for us. It made for a much easier ride. I do recommend bring your own car seat and getting a go-go babyz attachment. That was a huge help in manuevering through the airports.

We used Baby's Away in Colorado (in Denver and also up in the mountains), and it was great. We only rented cribs, but they came, set them up, picked them up and were super helpful and nice. They even came to a private address (we were staying with my husbands bachelor uncle) and they were more than happy to deliver on our schedule.

Wow, I wish I had heard of "Baby's Away" rental before. We have traveled a lot with 2 small children. Mostly the places we stayed had a crib and/or highchair to use.

In other cases, we have brought along our pack and play, and a folding booster seat. We have gone to a near-by Once Upon A Child (or other used baby stuff store) and then donated the bouncy seat to the place we stayed so they had it for other parents to use.

I did try (unsuccessfully) to borrow things from parents off of craigslist. I did get positive, excited replies from parents more than willing to let me borrow stuff, but it did not materialize because the planning for pickup was just too much.

good luck!
