Cost of Daycare

I was wondering if I could get some of the prices you all pay for daycare. My daughter is 15 month's old and I feel like I need to get my daughter into daycare in order to get some interaction with other kids. I've been staying at home with my daughter since she's been born. But with my husband being the only one working I just wanted to get some pricing from you all to see if we'd be able to manage.

What can I do next?

Hi K.-

I think it all depends on the sitter or the facility. I checked into a couple of places before making a decision. I found in home day care in Richardson for my son and I pay $150.00 a week and he started going there at the age of 2 months old. So I would say shop around. Good Luck!

I suggest mother's day out if you are still going to stay home. I currently work full time and my daycare charges around $180/week for that age. I will soon be staying at home and enrolled my daughter for the fall mdo at my church and they charge $180/MONTH! for 2 days/week from 9am-noon. Huge savings. Good luck in your search.

If you aren't planning on returning to work, consider a mother's day out program two or three days per week. Daycare for a kid that isn't potty trained is usually around $800-$900/month. For our son that is what we paid...it goes down a little each six months or so as they get a little older. He is now at a private preschool and we pay $750. Good luck!

If you are looking for some interaction with other children, look at a home care provider. Check out this website, www.pickofnorthtexas.com. I belong to this association and there are some providers that take part time along with full time. Good Luck!

I am a daycare home provider and I charge $160.00 per week.
It varies with the town you live in. I am in Allen. In Richardson the going rate is around 200.00 per week.
