Do you have a convection oven? Do you like it? My husband and I are remodeling our entire kitchen, and are considering purchasing one. We like all the info we have found on it, but are wondering if we will be glad we got one, since they are so much more than a regular oven. If you like yours, which one do you have?
Also, looking for any pros and cons if you have a 2 drawer dishwasher. We like the look of those as well, but do not know anyone that has one. Any info will be appreciated!!

What can I do next?

I have a Whirpool Polara (which I don't think they make anymore). It is an oven/convection/refrigerator....yes it cools & cooks. My dinner is in the oven right now and I'm at work. I have used the convection several times, once most significantly on a standing crown pork roast. The results were incredible. The outside was crispy and the inside was fully cooked, juicy and tender. When you turn the convection on, a fan starts to circulate the air. I used to work in a commercial kitchen and that is all we used (only giant sized) and we cooked everything from entrees to desserts. You must learn to adjust your temps down, however, so be sure to read your oven's manual.

Hope you get some comments on the dishwasher drawers...I too have been curious about them. Happy cooking!

My in-laws love their convection microwave oven but their house is very small and she remodeled to get rid of double ovens to give her more space. To use it as an oven you add the metal grid that is inside and then it senses you want to use it as an oven and the oven controls work.
My best friend has a double drawer dishwasher and wishes she just got a regular one. The double one works if you have a small amount of dishes and just use the same ones over and over. That way you can run one drawer, not put stuff away but just use them out of the clean drawer and put them in the dirty drawer. However, she has a large family and finds that she uses both drawers every night and finds it a pain to have to deal with 2 doors. I have heard that people who use a ton more glasses than dishes like them since they can run one drawer with glasses more often and the dish drawer less often. We will probably get a single dishwasher not the 2 drawer kind when ours dies in the near future.

I have two great oven a Wolf and a Decor wall oven both with convection, they came with the house. Used it once on cookies and couldn't tell the difference. I am a very basic cook, they are beyond me.

I miss my convection oven more than anything else. It was a microwave/convection combination. I loved the convenience of being able to bake in 2 different appliances and I loved the evenness of the browning.

When the microwave went out after over 10 years of use I couldn't find another combination unit and bought a regular microwave. I will eventually buy another convection oven if I can find one that fits my needs.

I have never used my convection oven-wouldn't even know how! What I would get in a remodel would definitely be a double oven. That I would use.

Convection ovens are an oven but it distributes the heat better.
We have one.
Its good.
It cooks anything well.
Some say that because the heat is distributed better, that you can set the oven at a lower degree than normal. So if a recipes says cook at 350 degrees, you can set it at 325 degrees.

I love convection ovens, especially ones that have a "Convection Roast" setting. I use that setting more than the bake settings, Roast Beef, Thanksgiving Turkey, any sort of roasted veggies, all come out perfectly on the Convection Roast setting. I had a KitchenAid oven in my last house and am using a Bosch oven in our current rental house and although I prefer the KitchenAid, both get the job done perfectly.

I also had the FisherPaykel dishdrawer in my last house. I know there are a lot of complaints about it online, etc, but *I* never had ANY problems with it and absolutely LOVED it. I don't have it in my current house and really, really wish I did.

If you're remodeling your entire kitchen, you might want to look into having a trash compactor. We put one in in our last house (man, I miss our last house, can you tell?) and only had to take out the main garbage once every 3 weeks. People might tell you "oh, they're gross, they smell after a while". Well, that's true if they're used incorrectly. If you make sure not to put in food scraps (especially raw meat) that can decompose, there will be no smell. And while I'm at it, let me tell you about the instant filtered hot/cold water dispenser you can install at your sink: no more boiling water, no plastic water bottles, no weird filter attached to your faucet, no filling pitchers that filter your water, just filtered hot and cold water at your fingertips whenever you want it. Ugh! Now I REALLY miss my old house! Have fun remodeling!
