Constipation on Soy Formula

So we finally switched my little one over to soy after months of dealing with tummy issues and she really seems to be doing better!! YEAH!!

However, now she is constipated. Because of the tummy issues, I really don't want to give her a whole bunch of stuff to mess with her sensitive tummy, but obviously she has to poop!

My daycare lady loves the Karo Syrup but I just was wondering if anyone had any other suggestions. We had a meltdown last weekend when I tried a touch of prune juice in her bottle, but she had also had oatmeal cereal for the first time and so I don't know which one caused the COMPLETE meltdown!

What can I do next?

We had the same thing happened when we tried to do powder formula (vs already mixed) we tried the Karo and the prune juice first but we eventually had to use the glycerin suppositories, it was gross having to sit there and hold it in then getting pooped on but it was the only thing that worked. Don't do the laxatives, those things are torture!

feed her the Ps : Prunes, Plums, Pear and I think Papaya even works. I gave my son pureed pear almost 3 or 4 times a week to help keep him regular. Pediatrician said that these fruits contain "pectin" which helps things moving (I think that's why Karo works too. It has pectin?)

Do not use Karo Syrup! Can contain botulism. My pediatrician said it isn't safe for babies. We used prune juice. Mixed it with my child's bottle.(can be breast milk or formula) it worked for us. We were also told we could use a rectal thermometer. We never did that b/c it was too traumatizing for my kid.

When my dd started solids and was constipated, the only thing that worked was cutting a magnesium tablet into an age-appropriate dose, crushing it to a powder and adding it to her drink. Worked like a charm.
