Clothes and Toys
Any suggestions on what to do with gently used clothes and toys? I have several clothes that still have the tags on them.

Just Between Friends, if you feel you have the time to devote to it, I start tagging now for the fall sale and I do the one in Ft. Worth. Otherwise, Finders Keepers on Davis near Tarrant Parkway gives you the best price but they're super picky. Kid to Kid is good too but the one in Watauga is never buying my sizes so I end up going to the one in Bedford (call ahead to the resale stores before you lug everything there).

You can donate them to Our Children's House. It is a medical facility attached to Baylor hospital downtown. They care for kiddos that (usually) have had some sort of traumatic accident and are healthy enough to leave the hospital but not ready to go home (or the parents are not able to care for them at home yet). They have a lot of kids that have been accidents but they also see a lot of CPS kiddos. They are a great organization that can always use stuff for the kiddos (they can also use volunteers to spend time with kids that don't have family who visits them).

C.,
Lots of great places to donate them have been mentioned, but we'd love to have you join us at Just Between Friends in the Fall if you would like to make some money back on them. I co-own the Fort Worth sale - our next sale is in September at the Will Rogers Memorial Center Exhibit Hall just west of downtown Fort Worth. If you have any questions about JBF, I'd be happy to answer them - email or call me at ###-###-#### - or check us out at www.jbfsale.com/fortworth.

I give everything away, because it's a nice way to bless others. If I didn't, I'd consign with Just Between Friends or Divine Consign. The next one is in September.

In Denton, there is a resale shop called Holy Family Thift Store which benefits the Loreto House which helps women in crisis pregnancy. I am sure there is something like that in Keller.

Craigslist, JBF sale, or you could take them to Once Upon A child or Kid to Kid. If you're not looking to make some $, then yes, you could always donate them to a shelter, Salvation Army, or a family in need. If you go to church, you could ask your pastor if he knows of a family that may need them.

I either donate ours to a local thrift store or if there is someone that I know of that might be in need of them(or has kids just younger than mine) I ask if they would like them- we have received many clothes that way and have passed on any that we couldn't use. It's a great way to help teach your children about sharing and helping others!

Ever think of donating to your local women's shelter? Many times when people come in, they are in crisis and come with basically the clothing on their backs. I know where we live they appreciate clothing, toiletries, gas cards, whatever. Sadly to say, there is always a need.
