Two questions. One, does anyone have a diaper service/how much does it cost? Two, has anyone tried the Flip Diapers? I want to try cloth but have no idea where to get started and I won't be able to do it if it doesn't save me some money. :)

What can I do next?

You can contact Shannon (she is a personla friend of mine) at www.simplebaby.com She does sell some diapers there but she is a member of a group called diaper swappers. They are all cloth diaper moms who sell swap trade and just support other cd moms. you can get all the cloth diaper advice you need there.

D.,

I did cloth diapers with all of my kids (actually a lot of them were 'hand-me-down' diapers. None of them ever had a rash or problem. It was no trouble to do all that laundry because I do laundry anyway. And it wasn't near as much trouble as having to empty the trash all the time with the smelly disposables. They're cheaper too! And you don't have the problem of your baby being allergic or sensitive to the plastic, etc.

I wouldn't go any other way.

We do cloth diapers and LOVE it! We don't do a service. We just wash her at home. It is easy and doesn't cost any extra!

I don't use the Flip diapers but a friend of mine just tried them and loves them! They are very trim. If you want to do diapers cheaply, you should go with Pre-folds and covers. I wanted the easiest possible and went for Bum Genius One Size diapers so I wouldn't have to buy more of each size and they work the most like disposables in ease of use. They are more expensive to start but once you have enough, you shouldn't have to buy any more- they should last through potty learning!

Diaperswappers.com is a great place to buy used diapers. Cottonbabies.com is a great place to buy Bum Genius diapers. Abbyslane.com has free shipping and I think they have a trial pack so you can decide what diaper works best for you. I am on a forum naturalparents.com and they are a ton of help as well!

Good luck!! Welcome to the fluffy-side!

I was intending to use cloth diapers and bought SunBaby, but I just never brought myself to use them. I have 8 of them along with 16 inserts. Everything is still in its original package except for one diaper because I wanted to see what it looked like. I am planning on putting them up for sale for $40 for everything if you're interested (originally 60). I bought these because I heard wonderful things about them. They are similar to fuzzy buns, but they have snaps instead of velcro, which I heard stops sticking after so many washes. They fit newborn to toddler, so you don't have to keep purchasing them. Let me know if you're interested, and I won't advertise them.
