Cannot Find Pants That Fit My Daughter

My daughter is 4 1/2 and is the 90th percentile for height and weight. She needs a size 6x for the waist, but the length is too long. I can hem pants, but there are so many other issues.... the rise is short, so she constantly has "plumbers butt" and they all seem to be too tight in the thigh area too. I am looking for a roomier cut jean. I have tried Target, Kohls, Oshkosh, Carters, but even the more tradtional brands make the more trendier grown up cut for girls. I have thought about trying a boy jean, but only as a last resort! Any suggestions welcome. I just want my sweet little girl to look like a little girl and not grown up in overly trendy clothes!

What can I do next?

Gymboree & Old Navy both carry plus sizes which have a wider, more generous cut.

How about putting her in skirts with the adorable tights -since it's getting cold. and i don't know if you noticed but the Footless tights (from he 80's) are sooo back in and the little girl look so cute. I hope you don't think it's too over top. I love clothes but i was blessed with a son so all those adorable little girl clothes I see, I have no use for.
Did you try children's place they are very trendy and affordable?

Hi! I have always had a long waist and know the problem! Maybe that was the reason I hated jeans as a kid and refused to wear them! Have you considered the stretchy kind of pants that are so popular for kids now? They might fit her better and be more comfortable. Also leggings and long shirts are cute and comfortable for kids. And by the way, my daughter wears boy jeans sometimes and they look just fine!

Have you tried Lee? They have so many different cuts, adjustable waist band, etc. Sometimes with Lee jeans you can hold 3 pairs of up that are supposed to be the same size and you'll see variations in length for whatever reason but that would work to your advantage if you find a shorter pair.

Even if you had to go with boys jeans you can embellish them with flower appliques, gems, etc. to make them look girly. Even if Lee doesn't work out now they do have varying lengths--a little harder to find but they are out there especially at Kohls or a VF/Lee outlet.
