Ahhhh, this weekend has been one of the craziest ever! I dont want to say worst because I know through it all I am still blessed at the end. First off our washer and dryer broke so I had to drag 3 kids 5 and under to the laundry mat...in the hustle of it all I forgot the diaper bag ugh. My little one has a blowout of course so I load them up and run home-was not gone but maybe 10-15 minutes and get back and 3 of 4 loads of laundry have been taken from the dryer. In those loads were 90% of my kids summer clothes and their favorite blankets with money being so tight around here as it is. WHO DOES THAT?!?!? Ugh. Next day....car breaks down and my kids act like they were born and have been raised in a barn!!! Just a stressful weekend the whole way around and hubby is the very stress free type that stresses over nothing no matter what it is!!! MUST BE NICE!!!! Please dont think I am not grateful for the blessings I have though because I am,I have 3 healthy ,happy children who think I hung the moon and I love that. I really do feel better though getting it all out :) I hope all you lovely ladies had a great weekend!!!!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks ladies!!! I appreciate all the kind words...I feel amazingly better after a good nights sleep ;) Leah-I think you may have the wrong post honey. I suppose the person that took our stuff needs them more than us!!! I hope everyone has a good week...today is Monday-time to start new from the insane weekend :)

**Add on**I am sure my clothes are not there...I looked high and low. Oh well-whats done is done and they are replaceable. Thanks again ladies!!!!

Bloody awful weekend for you. My sympathy and commiserations go out to you. Maybe you should have a cup of tea and a good lie down. Or a pina colada. That usually helps me find my happy place.

EDITED: I think Laeh G below might need a pina colada too! ;-)

Vent away!!! They took the 3 loads? Horrible.. May they get the weeping pox on their genitals!

I will tell you I always kept an "emergency stash" in my car of 2 diapers, wipes, plastic bags and some snacks and a bottle of water for just in case, the ultimate disaster happened..

I give you credit for going to three Laundry mat with 3 kids 5 and under?.. Good Lord woman!!!!

I hope this week is so wonderful, it makes up for this weekend.

No matter how wonderfully blessed you are, life is still hard. Stressful things still happen. "when it rains, it pours" is a statement for a reason. Sorry, it poured on you. Hopefully, it will be sunny for you again :)

Oh, wow! You really have had a week! I'm sorry things have been so rough. I admire your positivity about it all. It's okay to say it stinks! You are only human! I am praying that the coming week rewards you for your gracious acceptance of some pretty rotten circumstances.
Hang in there and God bless.

Are you sure that someone didn't just take the laundry out and set it aside so that they could use the dryer? That happens to me sometimes when I have to run an errand and leave my clothes in the dryer. I will find them in a basket or on a table somewhere else in the laundry-mat.

Well it sure was crappy of someone to take the clothes, What a creep. I guess the bright side is, now you dont have near as much laundry to do! Just keep smiling.

I live in an apt and have been using the laundromat since I was pregnant. Ive never had clothes stolen from me, but I have had people take them out of the dryer and put them some place out so that they can use it. I have never done that to anyone but have had it done to me a couple of times.

I think you should go back to the laundry mat and check to see if your clothes may be hiding somewhere or contact the owner to see if anyone returned the clothing - most pleaces have a lost and found area.

One time I went there and had a load of all my jeans - all 4 of them. I accidentally left them in the washer, never dried them and didn't realize until 2 days later. My wet jeans - all 4 of them, were waiting for me in the lost and found LOL.

Wow you have had a bad week. Someone was watching you at the laundry mat to know that you had left the premises and it was their chance to steal from you. People can be so awful. It's disappointing really.

And it does seem like every appliance and big ticket item breaks down at the SAME time too!!! Bleh!

Here's my bad month: My car A/C stopped working, our freezer part of the refrigerator is wacko - thawing, super freezing and leaking everywhere - ruined all our food. Our cat got deathly ill and the vet bill cost $$$$ up front. He's alive now, but he's the $1500 cat (my new refrigerator money!!!) And some jerk-off stole the license plate sticker off my car plates!! I am too cheap to replace the stickers since I already paid $150 for them!!!

Sorry, I used your vent to spew my own vent. I feel your pain sister!!
I really feel bad about your kids having their clothes stolen. That really is LOW - people just really suck. ;-(

Do you think the laundry mat has surveillance cameras? Maybe you can call the laundry mat mgmt and ask if they can show that to you and perhaps you can identify the thief. Long shot, I know.

Again - so sorry that your kids stuff got stolen! Sending a big {{{HUG}}}!

Apologies for the crude language. I'm just so upset at how people can simply steal from another. It boggles the mind.

Laurie A: Your response was a crack-up!!! Just hilarious!! And good advice too!! :)

Ugh. What a crappy weekend.

One of my girlfriends recently had her daughter's (expensive) car seat stolen from her van. She is a single, full time, working, mama. I was irate! She said, "Well, hopefully they needed it more than me." Shortly after, her landlord posted a "free stuff" ad on craigslist for the adjacent house's content. She didn't know, and had several loads of laundry taken from their shared drier! She posted a "missed connections" ad, and asked that the clothes be returned...miracle of miracles, they actually were!

Anyway. You sound like you are rolling with the punches, and are staying positive, which is more than I always do ;-) I hope it gets better really soon. (((Hugs))).

OOOOOOHHHHH MAN!!!!!

That ssoooo sucks!!! i've NEVER had anyone steal my clothes from a laundry mat!!! Can you check with your homeowners or renters insurance to see if you that might be covered? It sounds horrible - but file a police report so that it will be known that something was stolen from there? I don't know if that's extreme or not - I just know how pissed I would be if that happened to me.

What can I do to help? I don't know if you have boys or girls...or their ages...i have some summer clothes I can send you...would be happy to!! if they are the right size!!

Argh! Why is it all the expensive things break at the same time? It happens to me, too. I've always been scared to leave clothes at the laundromat because I was afraid that would happen. I thought I was being a worry wort but now I'll NEVER leave them. LOL. As for the kid's clothes, have you ever gone to Once Upon a Child? You can get some less expensive replacements there.

Laeh??? Wrong question maybe?

I agree with the pina colada, but make mine a glass of wine or a white russian.
Take a deep breath, good, now another.
Did someone just put the clothes in a basket and you didn't see them?
Does the laundry have 24 hour surveillance, maybe you can watch the video.
Go to them and tell them what happened, it's OK to put the kids in a drop off daycare for an afternoon so you are not distracted.
About the car, ugh!! My air conditioning went out.

(((HUGS))) I hope this week is better for you.

So Sorry you had to go through all of that! Not sure how attached your little ones were to their fav blankets, but that one would have sent me over the edge! If management doesn't have cameras and is unwilling to help you figure out who took your stuff, maybe they would let you post a lost items flier and you can offer a small reward for the return of your things. Whoever took the stuff may need a small cash reward in place of your childrens clothes. Several years ago my dgtr left her fav blanket at a hotel and we didn't realize it was missing until we were home 12 hours and several hundred of miles later...I started calling the hotel immediately and the blanket was found and returned to us! Keep the faith and hang in there, you deserve to vent :)

That really sucks. You are handling it so much better than I would. You say your hubby handles things well, sounds like you do too. I would have been in tears in the middle of the laundry mat.

I"m real curious Leah must have taken her post down, I wanna know what she said.
