Can an Ovulation Test Detect Pregnancy?

Hi moms! This is probably a dumb question, but I'm curious and details online are confusing. I took an ovulation test on day 14 of my cycle to confirm that I was indeed ovulating. I had all of the physical symptoms, just wanted to check to be sure and it confirmed that I had a LH surge. Today, just for the heck of it, I took another one. It was DARK red on the test line and light pink on the reference line. I've heard that you can use this method to test, just wanted some more info.
I'm only 4dpo, but the wait is killing me! Lol.
Peeonastick.com says that you can, but that's it's not as reliable.

What can I do next?

No the Ovulation kit does not tell you that you are pregnant. It will however tell you that the LH hormone is still present.

First responce has a early pregnancy test, It worked for all 3 of my kids/pregnancies(keep in mind my hormone levels were high and some of my friends took till they were 1 week late it all matters on your body and if ther is enough HCG hormone for the test to see)

Ovulation predictor tests only detect LH hormone, not the pregnancy hormone called HCG. It appears you still have a high LH hormone circulating and it may indicate you have not yet ovulated yet. If you still have thin cervical mucus, you might still want to consider yourself fertile. Many women ovulate after day 14 of a cycle. Best wishes! Nurse midwife Mom

Two totally different hormones! Luetenizing Hormone (LH) signals your body to release an egg when it reaches a certain saturation. HcG is the pregnancy hormone.

While you may be pregnant, I wouldn't rely on the OPK to tell you. Many of the HPT now can detect pregnancy long before your missed period. We took ours 5 days early and it came back positive. I know the wait is excrutiating, but wait a week and take a test designed to detect the "right" hormone!
