Bridal Shower Ideas
Hello ladies...I am asking anyones adivice on giving bridal shower ideas. I have given showers before and have had my own, but frankly I am getting bored with the traditional games. I am seeking adivice from any party goes. My sister is pregnant with her first and is really into scrapbooking, I was wondering if there's anyway to incorporate that into the party instead of doing the taste and guess the babyfood etc. I want it to be fun and something that everyone will enjoy.
Thank you in advance.

Bridal shower or baby shower? You mentioned that your sister is pregnant so I am going to assume it is a baby shower. For my sister we took pictures of all the guests as they walked in, and had them fill out a tag to be placed in the scrapbook by their picture. They can write wishes for the baby, or advise for Mom on the tag. I had all the pages ready and decorated, so after the shower I got the pictures developed, and then glued the pictures and tags in and gave it to her.
Another idea I have heard of but not used was to send all the guests a sheet of scrapbook paper and some small embellishments, and asked them to assemble a scrapbook page for the Mom-to-be.
Hope these suggestions help, and have fun at the shower!

we always do the musturd in a napkin folded like a diaper, every one gets one when they walk thru the door, the one who gets the one with mustard wins. then the mommy can keep it and put it in there scrapbook. you can buy a
small fake tree, put clothespins on it and have everyone put what they can afford on it and give it to mommy at the end of the shower. give everyone a cheap camera from walmarts [like 5 to 7 dollars], have them take pictures at the shower and give the cameras to mommy to develope. neat to see all the pictures...

You should do a scrapbook baby shower--I know that Creative Memories Consultants do those. I am not one, but I know a lot of people who are if you need a referral.

You can throw her a scrapbooking party. I knew someone that did that. Everyone got to design a pages for the book. And they did it at a scrapbook store in Independence, MO. She look it. I hope this work.

When we did my cousins, she was moving away to the other side of the country the day after the wedding so we wanted something really unique for her to keep.
We did a two-fold thing: First, with the invitations, we sent out stationary and asked each guest to share some of their favorite recipes that the bride liked so she would have a "family and friends" recipe book. During the shower, everyone shared the story behind why they chose the recipe they did.
Second, at the shower, we had more of the same stationary and asked each guest to write down some marital advice they wished they'd had. We got some hilarious and some very touching answers like "never take marital advice from a single friend" it was a fun way to share and really get people to open up. Some of the women had been married 40 or 50 years so they were more than happy to share. We put everything in a beautiful treasure box for her to take along on her journey.
Hope this helps!

You could get a bunch of scrapbooking supplies together or go to one of the large stores (sometimes you can have a scraping party there or there are home consultants that can come to you and host the party). Have everyone make a page or two for mom-to-be and then at the end put it all in a nice album as a gift to her! She will have fun making pages with her friends. You could help out by setting up stations with different supplies geared toward: birth, first steps, first words, first bday, etc.. that way she'll have her first year of baby's important milestones already done!
Making it into a game could be fun also: Have a contest for the most creative or silliest or sentimental and vote on the winners. You could award them a mini scrapbook.
The cake could even look like a baby scrapbook...My mom and I make cakes and I can even see it in my head, it would be really cute!
I have had a lot of success and rave reviews with dessert only parties. It's so easy to throw together and makes for a beautiful presentation.
One thing I find to be really helpful when I've thrown showers is to have everyone fill out the envelope that goes with the thank you notes she'll be sending out (I always purchase thank you notes as a gift to the mom). I just put the envelopes out on a table by the front door and have them stop when they first come in and fill it out with their address and then put it in a basket. Once everyone has arrived I pull one out of the basket for the first door prize. I also print off return address labels for the new mom. It makes her job of sending out thank you's so much easier! She has enough to get ready for as it is!
I've got a million more ideas but I don't want the post to be too long. Feel free to contact me if you need more help. Good luck!
