I gave birth to my daughter 5 months ago. My period started back about 3 months ago. At that time I started takeing the pill again. Just today I started bleeding in between periods. I am not due for about another 2 weeks. Also, I havent been feeling great lately. I have been getting alot of headaches and my tummy has been sore, as if I have been doing sit ups. Has anyone out there experienced any of this?
You might be having thyroid problems. When my oldest son was about 3, I developed hypothyroidism, and one of my symptoms was longer, heavier periods and spotting mid-month. Also the whole just not "feeling great" thing. I can't say it ever caused any abdominal pain, though.

The same thing happened to me when I started back on BC. It only happened a few times but sometimes it was a whole extra week of bleeding.
My OB/GYN said it was break through bleeding and its typical in the first 3 months of starting BC. Especially after giving birth your hormones are very different than how they reacted to BC before. What joy right!!?!!
Mention everything to your doctor though so its on record. They may have other ideas or concerns about the stomach muscle pain. The type of hormone you are one may be causing the headaches too even if they didn't before.

but to me this dosent sound like period bleeding.
as you are militray, go to the doc (it is free) and tell him you want to have an Ultra sound of your ovarian area dont let them fob you off saying just after bith stuff.
sorry but you are in the age group that are more prone to having problems in this area and it is very common for african american women to have a lot of cists on thier overies. never the less you are in pain and concerned go to the DOc and dont let them fob you off, talk to them untill you get the answer that helps you out
also how often have you had this problem because it could be an eptopic pregnancy, which means it is in the tube and not where it should be this can be life threatning to you.

Yes I have had similar symptoms after I had my daughter. My OBGYN told me it takes almost a year for you body and hormones to full recover after child birth and that the hormone changes were causing my issues which left a few months later. However I am sure there are also other reasons for the same symptoms so if it continues then you might want to give your doc a call.

i took the mini pill after my child was born and bled in between periods. i knew there was a problem as it seemed like i bled the entire month of february. i saw the doctor and stopped taking the mini pill. best of luck.
I would see a doctor. it seems you might be having a complication of delivery.

Break through bleeding sometimes happens when taking the pill, but your other symptoms really should be checked out by a doctor. Visiting your doctor would be worth it just to have peace of mind.

It could be that the pill you are taking is not right for you. I had a month where I bled the entire month. My OBG called it a 'bleed-through' and said that I should try a different type of pill/medicine.
go to see your doctor, they can give you professional advice, it could be more to it than what it seem.
J., please see a doctor immediately. The problem with symptoms like these is that they can be for something as simple as the wrong pill and at the same time, those symptoms could also be for something more serious -- there is no way for you to tell. Like the person below said, do not let any doctor fob you off with a quick exam and refuse you an ultrasound and a thorough check; ask them to test your ovaries and uterus too. If by the time you read this you are already feeling better, please, go immediately to the doctor anyway. I know from the experience of friends that getting checked as soon as possible is vital.
