Bleeding at 4 Weeks- Normal

Because I suffered a miscarriage in November 2009, I am being hypersensitive. Tonight I went to the toilet and wiped myself and I had pink watery discharge which later spotted brown. I went to A & E Accident and Emergency in the UK, and they ordered a scan done for tomorrow. I am quite nervous. They said I had trace amounts of blood in the urine. Is this normal or is this failed implantation coming out as a late period. I can only be 4 weeks pregnant. The conception was on June 1st. (this I know for a fact) So I am wondering if they could see anything? how long after failed implantation does menstruation occur?

My sister had some bleeding during her first trimester for a few days (very early in the pregnancy). She called the doc because she was worried and went in for an emergency ultrasound. Baby turned out fine ... and is now 8 months :-) ... doc told her early spotting can be normal but it's always a good idea to get it checked out to be sure.

I hope it turned out okay. I bleed for the first 6 months of my pregnancy with my son same spotting and some pink. I know this is hard but you have to relax. I know it was hard for me. I had 3 internal scans they saw nothing. He is 3 years old now. Thank God! :) Good Luck! :)

Hi E.,
I can imagine why you would be concerned. I think anyone would be whether they had a miscarriage or not. I had some bleeding like that a few times in my first month of pregnancy with my daughter. The first was just two weeks or so following a positive test. They did an internal ultrasound and could see that I was still pregnant and things looked normal. It happened one or two more times and then never again. I went full term and had a healthy baby. I don't really know much about blood in the urine but I have known people who were not pregnant who have had it. It may not even be related to the pregnancy. Good luck!

I don't know about the blood in your urine but two of my sisters had occasional light bleeding during their first trimester-it stopped after about 13 or 14 weeks.

They say 25% of all women bleed during the first trimester. I bled so
heavily, I thought for sure there was no baby. Boy was I wrong., Healthy
pregnancy. I know it is scarey but it does not always mean a mis.
Good luck.
