I wanted to know which birth control you use and why you like or dislike it? I have 2 children and we are looking to have another baby maybe a 1yr or so. I was going to try seasonel(sp) but I am not sure, I was on the old ortho tir cyclin and the lo versions of these before, but I love the thought of only having 4 periods a year.

So I actually looking for a hormonal birth control to help with my period, I get major migraines and heavy bleeding accompanied by acne and sever cramping when I ovulate so I am looking for some relief. I know that they say it can take a year to get pg after the pill but the last time we didn't use a condom, I am allergic to latex, I got pg and right now not an option. Tired of using condoms!!

Take the pill, and take it straight through to avoid the placebo/period weeks. I have done this over 10 years now on my doctor's guidance. Some brands, you may have breakthrough bleeding; others none at all (I don't have any). You have to find the right match. It works immediately as far as adjusting.
You don't need Seasonale to minimize the number of periods, just a monophasic bcp and guidance from your doctor. Ask about it because you'll have a lot more options than a brand that's just packaged for avoiding the placebo.
If you are going to want to start ttc in a year, then you might want to go with non-hormonal bc - diaphram, spermacide, or something similar. With such a short timeframe, by the time your body adjusts to the hormones and settles into a normal cycle, it will be almost time to go back off them again to get ready to conceive.
Once you are done having kids, going on a bc that limits your periods might be a good option. A few have been mentioned by other posters, Mirena is another one.
Seasonale, even though it says only four periods a year, can cause you to actually bleed more, because 'withdrawal' or 'breakthrough' bleeding is more common with that pill.
One that I have tried is Lo Estrin 24 Fe, which is a pack of 24 active hormone pills, as opposed to the more common 21 active pills that you get, which provides for a seven-day period. With Lo Estrin 24 Fe, you only have a four-day period. After I took the pill for a few months, my period disappeared completely, which is a common occurance with that pill. Also, it cleared up my acne, which was a great added bonus!
i agree with becky! dont get on a birthcontrol. just track your cycle and refrain from sex when you are ovulating. its really pretty easy. they even have cell phone applications to help you. i havent been on birthcontrol for over 9 months. Plus most drs and people dont want to say it. but birthcontrol really isnt very good for your body or your reproductive system.
Remember that it will take some time until the periods lighten up. You can still have spotting in between. I am hesitant about not letting my body have periods every month the way they are supposed to. I would go back on the regular lo version pills. Once the third baby comes then you probably will be ready for a more permanent solution of birth control.
I use generic yaz.. helps so much with periods.. and my obgyn let's me take it contiuesly.. so no periods.. check into it with ur doctor.. and I give myself a break and have 3 periods a year.
I just recently started Lo Loestrin. You can do an "extended cycle" with this pill, which I do. I skip the *period pills* in the first 2 months, and then get my period at the end of the 3rd month. I used to suffer the same things as you--I'd get terrible migraines, extremely heavy periods, major cramps, and pretty bad moodswings. This pill seems to have helped with all of those tremendously.
And, my dr. told me that trying to conceive after this pill shouldn't be a concern...Though I'm pretty sure I'm done now that my 3rd was born!

if you are planning on having another baby so soon I would NOT go on "combination" hormonal birth control right now. After you come off of them, it takes a while for the hormones to cycle out of your system and could make it difficult to conceive when you want to. My doctor told me to come off the pill (ortho-tri-cyclen) after being on it for 4 years right after I got married, for this reason... saying that if I planned on conceiving It would be best if I came off of the pill and waited at least a full year to conceive for the hormones to "cycle out" all the way.
you could go on a progestin-only birth control method, like the "mini pill" or mirena IUDs... or the implanon arm implant, depo-shot is also progestin-only, but for whatever reason it can take up to 18 months to get pregnant after you come off of it, even if you are "healthy" and fertile.
Or you could use a barrier method. like a diaphram or condoms... or you could use this as a "back up" method of extra protection if you use one of the other methods .
Obviously your doctor should be able to tell you what is the best idea, and what they recommend. But make sure to tell them that in about a year you might want to think about having another baby! this could greatly influence which type they suggest for you!

I have been on the regular birth control pill, not low dose or Seasonale, for a total of over 20 years and have never had an issue with it. I looked into the Seasonale pill but was discouraged that it took usually over a year before your period went away and until then, they could be unpredictable. Predictability is one of the benefits of being on the pill, IMO, so I did not go that route. I have always had short and light periods anyway.
I have several friends who have the Mirena IUD and love it, but I've never had a reason to do something different than the pill, as it's always worked for me.
