Bilingual Preschool and Kindergarden Programs in San Diego
I'm trying to figure out how my kids can learn Spanish and I'm wondering if there are any preschool and/or kindergarden programs in the San Diego north area.

Since you ask for "bilingual preschools", there are two in the same building at 3219 Clairemont Mesa Boulevard, San Diego 92117, in the Clairemont area, easily reached off I-5, first exit on 52 east. One is German, and the other one is French. The phone number for the German preschool is 858/272-3832. My son will go to the German preschool starting in September. They start as early as 2 years, but of course, you need to sign up well in advance. Good luck!

I don't know of bilingual preschools, but there are several elementary programs. In San Diego Unified, Longfellow and Spreckles both have immersion programs. Longfellow is in Bay Park and Spreckles is in University City.

I am also in Clairemont and googled and found some. My husband and his mom is bilingual, so we just decided to try and have them work with my daughter. Also, if she watches many videos, most of them have a language option of Spanish. Even a little exposure is better than nothing.
I commend you on this and think in our day and age it is a great tool for our little ones to learn early, when it is easiest. Also, studies have shown their brains to develop differently and help with learning other skills better.
Also, maybe check into Pacific Beach. I found several there, but didn't interview them. One I found taught Eng, Span and French! Most are a little more, but not a lot.
Good luck!

There are a few Spanish immersion schools but your probably too late for this fall. Longfellow is in Bay Park, Star*** something is in UC. And if you're lucky enough to end up in Del Mar, Del Mar Heights is starting to offer Spanish classes in Elementary. Those are the ones I know of......I'm sure there's more. You can always look at sandi.net or if you end up in a city outside of San Diego check the district's website.

Have you heard of The Language Academy? A friend of mine has her two kids in the French program. They have done very well.
