I am starting a beading class in my home 75248 for ages 5 to 13. They can come twice a week or once. I am trying to come up with other ideas for items to make besides necklaces, bracelets and earrings. Anyone have other ideas? Also, Does anyone know where to buy beads in bulk, like seed beads etc?

Candle "Bling" !!!!! Make a necklaces for pillar candles!

Christmas decorations: wire and beads

Flower jars: wrap wire and beads around small jars to hold flowers. If you want to hang them outside for a party, have an adult make a wire handle with strong wire. (use plastic jars for kids?)

They can try weaving beads without the loom. You can then make them into magnets, brooches, and even purses with some sewing. But I do not use seed beads.

How fun!!! The school I used to teach at is in your zip code- Prestonwood. Anyway, I think bookmarks are another cool thing you can make with beads and it encourages reading. What about Christmas ornaments? I don't know if that is something that would work. Hope this helps and good luck with your classes!

Try the rock barrell in Dallas. Also Aunties beads has moved from downtown Grapevine to a warehouse in Grapevine. Try on-line with them, because if you go there you must order on-line in their warehouse.

My neice, nephew and I have made keychains before. That's always fun. Also, I have seen some pony beads in bulk at Michael's. My Papaw used to do beading on a loom and then sew it onto mocassins. That's always really beautiful and a real attention getter and conversation piece. Good luck in your endeavors and God Bless.

Great idea! Try Fire Mountain Gems - they have a website and a great catalog. They have a huge selection and they do bulk pricing. Good luck!

There is an Auntie Bead's in downtown Grapevine on Main Street that might be a good source. When I was a kid, I beaded a belt with nautical flags on a leather background. My older brother still wears it to this day. Also headbands might be a good choice.
