Hi Moms,

I just thought to use this platform to inquire about when do you start your back to school shopping and where do you usually go for great deals? Also, are there any online sites that you use?

Regards,
V.

I will buy the boys new sneakers and backpacks and thats about it. For the first month of school they are still in their summer clothes which they have plenty of and it all still fits. At the end of September I will take them out for pants and long sleeves. Back to school shopping with boys is really not that much fun :-(
I find that Macys when there is a sale and with a coupon is by far the best deal on their Nike and other athletic apparel that they like to wear. I will also try to hit Abercrombie kids when they have a good sale for a dress shirt or 2 and maybe khakis. Target jeans are really my favorite for them though. They are dirt cheap and very plain looking. My boys hate any embellishments. They really don't like to wear jeans anyhow-they live in their athletic gear.

I usually start shopping for school supplies (pens, pencils, notebooks) the beginning of August when the stores start to run the sales. I get some items at Target, and others at Staples. If Walmart has an item that the other stores don't, I'll go there.

As far as school clothes, my kids really don't need anything. I'll take them sometime in August for one new outfit. We buy clothes as they need them or when we come across a great sale.

Does NY do Back to School no tax weekend?
VA does this weekend. No tax on any clothes under $100 and no tax on any back to school item under $20.

I generally wait til the weather cools. I've gotten burned 2 years in a row by buying pants during the summer and by Thanksgiving, they're too short!

I generally shop at Kohl's, JC Penney, and Children's Place for my 8 yo boy.
Coupons or Kohl's cash.

I generally make it his day of torment and make him try everything on--I hate returns and on-line is too iffy, size wise anyways.

I am going on Friday. this Friday is a tax free weekend for school supplies and clothes for VA. Normally I would wait a little longer, but since it's the sale, I'll just do it now

Started about 3 weeks ago when I first was able to view school supply list. I should be able to get everything (on the huge list) of supplies for under $15 this year since most items go on say for very cheap a the summer finishes off. As far as clothes well that is all dependent on what you desire. I still shop consignment for my oldest.

The school's PTA sells them at the end of the year, so then we don't have to worry about it at all. We just pick them up at the beginning of the next year. That's just for our youngest. For our oldest, we did the shopping a couple of weeks ago at Target and Staples.

Supplies or clothes? I like Kohls and they sell cute stuff on sophiasstyle.com has some cute clothes too. Zappos.com has cute shoes that are a good price and have some fast shipping and they overnight new shoes the day you call if they are the wrong size. For your 6 year old, Childrens place is always good and Kohls. I saw some cute stuff at jcpenneys the other day for boys too.

I usually shop at Target, but I'll go to WalMart and Staples just for a few fun items (WalMart had Mario notebooks/folders, not cheap, but one was a fun treat, and Staples has different stuff like push pins shaped like world monuments...Eiffel Tower, Sphinx, etc...fun!) I am all done, except that I need a ream of paper and an ink cartridge, and I'm hoping for a good sale on ink. We do online school, so our shopping list looks a little different, I guess. :)

For supplies I'm just about done. Got most of them at Walmart since the prices were cheaper. For clothes I am going this weekend because VA is tax-free this weekend.

Kohls is tax-free and has a 15-20% coupon...
