Babysitters Pay

we are in Missouri and we pay $5/hour for 4 kids ages 3-10.

I live in Shawnee and my sister does a lot of babysitting and I hire sometimes. She and everyone she knows that babysits charge $10/hour per child. She works at a daycare center and that is what everyone there charges....and the parents pay. There is a little girl up the street from me though that is about 13 and she charges $5.50 an hour. It kinda depends on the age of the babysitter.

Wow, and I thought $5/hr was alot! I have one kid though and she's 9 and pretty easy going. I think it depends on the number of kids you have. I'm in Mission, KS.

Our daughter is 30 months old so there is potty training and diapers involved in her care. We discused the pay scale with our 19 year old sitter to come up with the pay rate we all felt was fair. The rate we pay is $7.50 an hour. That is one dollar better than minimum wage on the Missouri side of Kansas City. We live in Belton. I also always tip her about $5.00 on top of the hourly fee.

I prefer to hire sitters with their own car and some child care background. Our current sitter worked at our daycare center before graduating from high school. Hope this helps.

We're paying $10/hour, but we have three little monsters. I'd say less for fewer kids.
