I am considering a babysitter, how much do you pay? I am thinking I'll need her once every other week, 2-3 hours. I have a two year old and two dogs. They are all fairly easy going.
Thanks wise moms,
Ceci

Thank you ladies, I'm going to pay ten bucks, considering there are dogs present. Wish me luck!

For my 2 kids, I pay $10/hour for irregular babysitting (i.e. date night, etc.)

My neighbor paid $15/hour for her kids to be babysat regularly once a week. My girlfriend would only pay $10/hour for babysitting for her kids twice a week and she's had a real hard time finding and keeping someone.

You also may want to determine if you're going to pay "under the table" or take the childcare tax write-off. This can have some ramifications on how much you pay.

Based on your 2-3 hours every other week, I think you would do well to pay $10/hour for a responsible High School aged individual or older.

It's always best to ask Mother's in your area. I think $10 would be an absolute minimum and I'm not sure about your other answer but I would NEVER let a 12 to 14 year old watch my kids (I think that was like 10 years ago). In NYC you'd pay a minimum of $15/hr for a good babysitter.

You are in California. 1 of the 3 statest that pays more for sitters. I run a very busy babysitting services in Texas. I have 30 families. I charge $12 hour for 1 or 2 kids and $2 per hour after that.

In California the average is $15 an hour for an experience babysitter. If she is doing anything with the dogs such as feeding, walking etc then you need to pay an extra 1 or 2 dollars an hour as that is petsitting as well.

The hourly wage depends on what she is doing. If the family is within 15 min of my house I have a 2 hour min if 15-30 min there is a 4 hour minimum.

I would never let a sitter under 18 watch my 6 yo daughter. CPR/First aid and experience is a must. Also ask ?s!!!

I think it kinda depends on the babysitter. Like if you get a 12 to 14 year old to watch your kid then you could pay her less and she would most likely be fine with that. Like 5 to 7 dollars an hour. But if you get a collage age girl or even older they are going to want more pay.....like $10.00 an hour. Actually I had a steady babysitting job (about twice a week) when I was 16 and I got payed $10.00 a hour.
