Baby Swing

Hi, I am wondering what the best baby swing is. I have been looking at the Papasan swing and just the normal Graco 6 speed. Is it important to have a swing that swings sideways and front to back? I would love any input so I can know if this is something worth spending more money on. Thanks.

What can I do next?

I love the papasan swing. I also got another swing I forget the name but it has fishes on it and it has a globe that lights up with little fishes in it. My baby loved that one because of the colors. There was a whole line of aquarium themed stuff last year but it was great. She also loved the papasan which was at my mother in laws house. The swing was a life saver. Swing sideways or front and back, well that does not matter to much at least to my little girl, but each baby is different. Good Luck. FYI: I bought both at Babies r us.

We absolutely LOVED our fisher price rainforest swing. It goes both ways and also can be plugged in or can use batteries. Our babies loved the colors and the mobile.

I LOVE LOVE LOVED my fischer price aquarium travel swing. Baby swings back and forth. Small enough to move around the house. ALways worked will without any problems. the fact that I could EASILY take it from place to place was great.
Has 3 speeds, lights, and little toys that the baby can pull on to make the music go, and the lights lite up.

Check it out on babies r us.com. It has GREAT reviews!!!!!!!!!!

I wouldn't bother buying a swing if your baby is already 3 months old. You won't get enough use out of it. both of my kids were "sick" of it or too heavy to make it swing well by 8 months old. Instead, I'd invest in a really good play saucer - your boy will love it!

I'd agree with the other poster that suggested you skip a swing. My son used it until he was about 6 months old, after that he was too big and too active for it.

If you decide you do want a swing, then I highly recommend the Fisher Price Baby Papasan. My son LOVED his swing and it was a life saver for us many times. I do think there are advantages to the dual swing motion. Often times, we would switch direction and it would help calm my son or change his view. The thinking of the side to side motion is that it mimics the motion the baby felt in the womb. I think the swing is worth every penny.
