Hi everyone. I am the mom of a little girl and now have a wonderful son. These issues are very new to me. I am nervous about this-sounds funny...but i change my son each night while he is asleep before I go to bed. Lately I've noticed him having had an erection or get one during the change. Is this normal for a boy who is only 10 months? I've never seen this before and I don't know a thing about this. I'm sure it's maybe okay, but is this a sign of something else? I have a 2 year old girl myself but my sister has 2 boys and yes that is very normal. There's nothing to worry about! :)

My son will be 4 in a few weeks and he has been getting one from day one. My husband says that it happens when he has to go to the bathroom. When he wakes up in the morning, you could see it through his underwear. It looks funny because you don't expect a little child to have one.
My son is 3 and his still has them. It's normal. I found out the hard way that it means he is about to pee. LOL! Even the grown men it still happens.. LOL!
Yes its normal my son done the same now he 12 its still the same in the morning i ask him was that growing of course he laughts just like our nipples went the air hits them they grow. Lol
yes, it's normal. i have a 4 year old boy. with the slightest breeze or cool air they'll get one. it;s perfectly normal.

yes its normal....im a 1st time mom and i got scared when it first happened to me.....maitus started when he was born...some times wiping him did it other times just having the diaper off did it...i talked to the doc and she said there was nothing you could do about it its a part of life......now when it happens i just re-put his diaper for a couple of mins and then check and most of the time its done......let me know....
Totally normal. My son is 2 months and is now doing it!!!!!!!
totally normal refex- doesn't mean anything and will happen all the time for no apparent reason until he's 50, especially in the morning when he first gets up. Don't make any issue about it at all. By the time he's 2.5 or 3 he'll probably start to notice it himself and may poke around a little. Still totally normal- let him explore, its his body he has to learn about it. And don't think for one second that it has anything to do with sex. But- be forewarned it sometimes proceeds urination so you might want to take cover, hee hee.

My son is 1 and has erections too sometimes. My husband noticed it at first and called me into the room. Thanks for posting this quest cause i read the other replys and see its normal :)
It's fine! It's fine!!! Don't worry. Don't do anything about it and most importantly - when he discovers his intimate body parts and plays with them DO NOT scold hime for this please!!! It is the most normal part of his physical and emotional development.

Baby b****! Gotta love it! That's what happens, when they first wake up, sometimes during a diaper change, whenever! Very very normal.
definitely normal, it's a boy/guy thing lol. from what i was told, for it to happen during u changing him, it's from the cold air (which is also the reason they sometimes wind up peein on your during the changing). just something you have to deal with, and in time, you'll be used to it.
As far as I know it's normal. It's been happening to my son since a baby and still does at three and has happened to the male children of everyone I know. It has nothing to do with sexual arousal, just as a grown man's morning erection usually has nothing to do with sexual arousal. It's usually just that they have to pee.

My son does the same thing. I think it's normal for a boy. My sister tells me the same thing.

Oh yah...Totally normal. My son does the same thing and he's almost 3. He's been having this since he was about 6 mos. It's just a boy thing. The fun comes when he finds his "pee pee." You can almost not get your son naked without him grabbing it. The first time my son grabbed himself and proclaimed "My pee pee" with a big smile on his face. I almost fell over in hysterics. Welcome to the world of little boys.
