My 5mth old has baby acne on his cheeks. I was wondering if anyone knows anything that works to help clear it up. It isnt that bad. I have just been careful not to use anything except gentle baby wash on it. I apologize to those people who are selling products, but I would prefer to use something that I can find at the store..walmart, cvs, walgreens, etc....

My younger dughter had acne when she was born and the pediatrician said not to put anything on it. It will go away on its own.

Nope, I wouldn't use even baby soaps on it. The kind you do buy at the stores contain harmful chemicals and toxins, including Johnson's line, by their own admission, and are probably serving to worsen the condition. You'd be surprised! This is topic I feel very passionately about after dealing for several years with my own kids allergies. And no, I don't sell products ;-) but I use some pretty darned good natural ones! I was shocked when I read this statement recently.

"After analyzing 2,983 chemicals used in personal care products, 884 were found to be toxic." ~National Institute of
Occupational Safety and Health

If you don't want to use an all natural product for it, then I'd just use a wash cloth and water. That's the best you can do. It will go away with time. All 3 of mine had it!

Good luck! :-)

Baby acne is COMPLETELY normal. It will go away on it's own. My second child had it pretty bad, but in time it went away. If you're breast feeding, you might want to stay away from "strong flavored" foods. That can sometimes cause babies to have little outbreaks on their skin. I hope this helps! Enjoy your two little ones!!!!!!

I don't actually use any soap on my kids' faces. Just a soft washcloth with clean water. Even the gentlest soaps can cause reactions in sensitive skin.
The acne will go away. If it really bothers you, you could ask the advice nurse at your pedi clinic or mention it to the pedi on your next visit.

My 6 month old also had baby acne and a wise mama told me that it was because she was too warm at times. Some babies don't sweat very well??? Something like that. Anyway if it is because your little cutie is too warm it should clear up pretty soon if you shed a few layers for a while. Just a thought. Good luck!!! And don't worry it will go away!
