Hello ladies

For weeks now I have been trying to find a place that offers art classes for 5 year olds. I am desperate because I could not find anything! My daughter loves drawing&painting. She is not into sports so I thought that arts&crafts classes would be great for her at this age. She just started kindergarten so afternoons would be perfect for another interesting activity. We live in Lutz but I would drive up to 30 min if there is anything she would enjoy. Please let me know if you know of such a place for my little artist! Thank you!

Have you considered music classes??? Another Mom on mommasource has music classes for children in which she incorporates art. She is a wonderful music teacher and teaches the children the basics of music (i.e., rythm, sounds, and finger movements). Both of my boys go to her Monday evening class at 6:00 - 7:00. The children learn about different types of music (classical, different countries, etc.) and instruments (they get to play different instruments as well - drums, violin, guitar, piano).

I believe Mrs. Hintz has a posting on the "Mom owned business page". She does classes in her home in Stonegate (off of 54 just west of Dale Mabry). I cannot find her number, so if you are interested and cannot find her on mommasource (under Hintz Music) then email me back and I will get it for you. There are many of us that go. She also incorporates Spanish in the lessons.

Check out Gymboree Play and Music programs. They offer art classes up to age 5. I am not sure when she will be 6, but at least this will get you through until you find something else. Have you check with your local library? What about a community center, or the YMCA? Good Luck!

The public library in Land O' Lakes usually has fliers for a free art class for kids that I think is located at St. Leo. I'm not sure of the ages, though.

A friend of mine has been taking her daughter to the Temple Terrace Rec Center for years. Give them a call, we love it there as well!
