Anyone Used Gripe Water for Gas

My 3 month old has very smelly gas and I always thought breastfed babies did not have smelly gas or stools. I have not had any dairy for about a month and not much change. He doesn't seem to be in much discomfort though. Any suggestions in diet changes or has anyone used gripe water for gas?

What can I do next?

I have been using Wellements Gripe Water with my 5 week old breastfed baby and it seems to help her colic and gas quite well. I am very pleased with it. She is also exclusively breastfed and I prefer not to use medications if possible. Before I found the gripe water I tried baby gas drops out of desperation and was not pleased with the results. I would say that the smell is unavoidable though. Like one other mommy said... poop is poop... it stinks... gas is the same :)

I've used Baby's Bliss gripe water since I had my first child nearly three years ago. I used to dilute it with water and let her drink it whenever she wanted. She went to fussy and gassy to just happy. This gripe water has fennel and ginger in it which has been used for generations to help gas. My second child can knock you out with her gas, but doesn't seem to have pain or discomfort either. She won't take the gripe water but then again, I have problems to get her to do anything but breastfeed. :O)

Hello M.! I think Gripe Water is the best! When we brought our son home, he had colic for the first month. After the first week, we didn't know what to do. My boss had told me about gripe water and my mother in law ordered it on line. Within 2 weeks, my son was "normal". When we have another child, I will have that in stock! After we were relieved of his colic, I continued to use it for his gas, it's wonderful!! I highly suggest it!!!!
Good Luck!

I used it. It seemed to work for us.
Kind of freaked me out at first giving him this
black stuff. But I also took it once for my upset
stomach and it helped me too.

M.,

I have a 7 month old which is still being breastfed, and I have been giving her gripe water since she was about 1 month old. It is a great thing. It really helps. I still give it to her whenever she has problems with constipation. Also passing gas for breastfed babies is a good thing. We got the gripe water at an Asian Indian store. It is sweet and is clear in color. And if you get it there it is much cheaper. I got it at a store in Hilliard on Roberts road. Let me know if you need to know where to go.

I have not tried gripe water for gas, but I have found that my eating certain veggie gave my babies gas.

Little about me: Sahm of 4.

My sister -in -law has used it regularly with her daughter who is now 9months old. She had intestinal issues and colic going on. If he isn't in any pain, is it just the smell that concerns you? Have you tried baby massage techniques? I teach it to new parents and it's awesome for gas problems! I used to call my 4 year old my little fart machine - so sweet I know:). Anyway, it's really helpful and has so many other benefits as well. Good Luck!

i used gripe water it was easy and it worked!
