I have been following the Weight Watchers plan and was considering trying the new "Acai Berry" pills to enhance my weight loss. Has anyone tried them and do they work or is it all a big gimmic?

I have been on it for 1 month now and haven't noticed any difference. The only thing different I've noticed is that some days I will have an extra bowel movement. Still no different though.

I found out that the liquid is better than the pill. I drink half of cap every morning and with tea. It works for me. I have not lost any weight but I haven't gain either I believe I have been maintaining because of it. I eat a lot too I don't diet. I excercise 5 days out of the week but I don't diet so it is harder for me to lose the weight. The aci is great because it helps me every morning. I have been working out for 2 months they say the third month is where you start seeing a weight change. I have noticed my bubber is not hanging out of my pants and some close fits a little more comfortable. I may not be losing the pounds because I am gaining muscles. I am a true believer in the acai berry juice. If you have any question comtact Jason Phillips at ____@____.com he knows more about that product and can give you more details. I am happy with it and will continue to drink it. I don't do diet pills but I will do the ACAI. It does also help you stay regular if your a person who has problems pooh this helps makes it easier for you to go. It is not all day just after you drink it. It is not unpleasant either. I am in a better mood- more positive and ready to stay on track to keep working out maybe if I diet but I hate too. Everyone is different and everyone body is going to take different ways. Good luck.

I'm not sure why the GNC ppl told the poster to take a laxative w/it since it seems to be a natural laxitive. You can read more information about it on wikipedia. Just look up Acai Berry. I'm starting work w/a company that sells it, GNS. You can also look up their info too, at least for information. Here's the two links:
http://www.gns-online.com/acai/ae14nv/
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A%C3%A7a%C3%AD_Palm

I haven't tried it myself but I think it's more for antioxidents rather than weightloss. I know Medifast works really well for weightloss. Keeping weight off is the hard part but it's not so hard as long as you don't get back into 'old habits'. Good luck!

I went in to GNC to buy some Acai Berry pills and they told me that I would need to take a laxative with it. I decided not to buy it.

The acai berry is one of nature's perfect foods. I am a distributor of a nutritional juice called Mona-Vie, whose main ingredient is the acai. I have learned quite a bit about the acai recently but I know it's quickly becoming the next big thing! It's been proven to have the highest content of antioxidants over any other food, fruit, vegetable on Earth. It's also mentioned in a book called The Pericone Promise (it's a healthy lifestyle/weight loss book). Jenny McCarthy also mentions it in her latest book, Mother Warriors, and claims it helps her autistic son's concentration and focus. I'm not pushing my product, but there's a very informative website if you want to check it out...dev-brighart.com (no www.), click on "About Brig & MonaVie" then watch the "MonaVie: The Story" video. It has a lot of helpful information about the acai. The other information is promotion on the product, but I think you'll get a lot out of that particular video. Best of luck to you!

I received a free trial bottle via internet the other day. I haven't been taking them religiously (after lunch and after dinner) but when I do take them, I've noticed a decrease (mild) in my appetite which is great. No side effects that I can tell for me. K. L.

I have tried them for three weeks and see no results. The only thing it does for me is make me kinda sleepy. However, I did noticed my mood was better.

My husband takes them. At first he bought them from an "infomercial" but then he found them at Wal-Mart for about $8 - way cheaper than the $30 infomercial "brand." Both work about the same he claims.

He has lost 50 Ibs since he changed his eating habits and started exercising 4 months ago. I'm not sure if the Acai helped with the weight loss - I think it was more related to changing his eating habits and exercising.

The Acai berries work like a laxative. When he started taking them he would pooh 5-6 times a day! So, be prepared to clean out your bowel and stock up on toilet paper/wipes ;-) And, like the other post - he also noticed it boosts his mood.

Whatever you decide - the key to weight loss is eating a healthy balanced diet with lots of fresh fruits/veggies and regular exercise.
