I was wondering if anyone has any good or bad things to say about the following pediatric practices: Woodfield Pediatrics in Schaumburg, Arlington Pediatrics in Arlington Heights, or North Arlington Pediatrics in Arlington Heights. I recently moved to the suburbs and am looking for a good doctor for my almost 1yr old son. These practices take my insurance. Also, if anyone has any recommendations for specific doctors in any of these offices, that would be great! Thanks in advance =)

Hi Carol,
I have been to Arlington Pediatrics and believe that you will be very happy going there. They are wonderful people and I know many people who go there. I went there for P.T. for an eval and to see Mary Massery.

My son's 11 mos. old and we take him to Arlington Pediatrics. The doctor's and nurses are extremely helpful. They'll always see him the same-day if he's sick. And, I've never had to wait long for my appointments. In fact, I usually get there early and am in and out before his scheduled time.

We have been going to North Arl. Ped. for 16 years and love it. There is only one doctor that we don't care for but I know people who love him. My children were sick all the time and the doctors were always available for us. They have even come in on Sunday when needed. I never had a problem getting in touch with a doctor after hours. They always answered all our questions and I have never felt rushed. We mostly saw Dr. Dobkin or Dr. Walsh unless it was a sick appointment.

I had good experiences at Woodfield Pediatrics.
Though if I recall correctly, they did not have separate waiting rooms (ie, sick/well) and I did not like that.

Carol -

We use Arlington Pediatrics, however, I am contemplating switching. The last 2 times my son has been sick we have ended up in the ER, and one resulted in a hospital admission! Their practice is everything is viral and let it run its course. While I tend to agree to a certain extent, both of our trips to the ER could have been eliminated with a Rx for an antibiotic (which was given at the ER). No child should have to have a fever / runny nose (yellow) for 10+ days! Good Luck on your decision!

Wow, CR sounded exactly like me! We have been going there for 16 years and the doctor who started Arlington Pediatrics was with North Arlington. We too LOVE Dr. Dobkin and Walsh, Dr. Geleske as well. All are on the boards at NW Community Hospital and Childrens' Memorial and have outstanding credentials. They too have come in on a Sunday to see me. The only things sometimes is the wait when they are very busy. But they know us very well! Have seen many doctors added to the practice, including a child psychologist so they are always growing. Don't know if they are accepting new patients but you can call. I don't know about the other two. I stayed with them because they had Sat. and evening hours - which is a Godsend sometimes.

Best of luck to you.

I go to Arlington Pediatrics and they are great! I love all the doctors, mostly Dr. Santiago. I think they are only taking infants so you might want to call. A lot of my friends go to North Arington and say it's pretty good. Not sure which doctors are the best over there. I am pretty sure they are taking new patients at any age.
