Any Recommendations on a Good Family Doctor?
I am looking for a new Family/General Practitioner, mainly for me and my husband (we have a great pediatrician for the kids). I live in Willowbrook and work in Oak Brook, so someone who holds office near those areas (i.e. Hinsdale, Elmhurst, LaGrange, Western Springs, Darien, Westmont, Downers Grove, etc.). Looking for someone thorough who pays attention to details, flexible, great bed-side manner, and experienced. We want to start screening for things that could come up later in life, so I want a doctor who seems to care about "preventive maintenance" and living healthy.

So What Happened?™
I know I am over a year late regarding my request to find a good doctor, but I finally did it. I chose Dr. Daniel Grzegorek, DO. 6900 S. Madison in Willowbrook, (thanks Alice E.) and so far I like him. He was on-time with my appointment, he gave me great advice and made me feel at ease, and he even gave me encouragement to continue what I was doing to try to maintain my health. I am confident in his diagnosis thus far and he does great follow-up. I even like the nurse/office manager, she is very friendly. Thank you to all who responded to my request, I really appreciate the help!

I recommend Elmhurst Medical Associates. I personally see Dr. Fabrizius and she is wonderful and extremely thorough. My mother sees her, as do her friends and mine. If your husband is against a woman doctor, they also have men in the group, I know my father sees Dr. Kramen and has "fired" countless doctors in the past but has continued with him for years.

Dr. William Long DO practices Family Medicine at Adventist Hinsdale Hospital. He just changed his office location but you can get the number from information or Hinsdale. He is a wonderful physician, cares about his patients and is considered one of the best in the western suburbs. His office includes MD's as well.

My family and I go to see Dr. Susan Rhode at the Loyola University Outpatient Center in Oakbrook Terrace on 22nd and Midwest Road right next to the Home Depot. The telephone number is ###-###-####. I've been going to these doctor's since I was 18 and I am 28 now. I have two kids, 8 and 4 months and they both go to see Dr. Rhode. She's great!

I go to Downers Grove Family Practice they are located at 4900 Main St. There are various Dr. there. The most I like about them is when they give you an appointment they stick to that time. Rarely do I have to wait and I am big on not wasting time. They are very attentive, I have had the same Dr. for 4 years with no problems. Good luck.
