We need to get my daughter a new car seat as she has finally reached the weight limit (22 lbs) on her infant carrier. We want safety first, but we also need something narrow. What are your recommendations?

What can I do next?

If you want something that is EXTREMELY safe, highly-tested & narrow there is only one way to go: Sunshine Kids Radians.

They are steel-framed seats, so they weigh a TON but they are also some of the best seats on the market. (As a CPST-in-training, my top-picks are Britax, Radians & Recaro, in an ideal world & budget).

Good luck!

Love the Sunshine Radians! We have our 3 in them and they all line up in a row. They sell them online at Target.com. When we bought ours we found some online coupons(free shipping is common), the color we wanted(red) was on sale and we're AAA members and they had a link from their page offering an additional discount that made the price really good.

the Sunshine Kids Radian is the narrowest of all convertible seats on the market, and is well regarded by certified child passenger safety techs for its solid construction and high harness height and weight limits that will keep the child safely harnessed until she has the size and maturity for a belt positioning booster seat. The Safety First Complete Air is also fairly narrow. The ComfortSport that one of the PPs mentioned is fairly narrow but has a very short top harness setting that most kids will outgrow by *height* well before they approach the 40 lb. weight limit.

We just got the Graco comfortsport about a month ago. It's a little more narrow than the my ride. It only goes to 40 lbs instead of 65 though. But i LOVE it! It's been simple and she likes it!

We have 5 Britax seats (Chaperone, Regent, and (3) Frontier85's) and love them all. But the ones we have are slightly larger than some. However, if you can make it work, they are extremely safe!
