So I just drove my son's bus route to make sure there were no wires down. There are some but they are finally off the road. Why am I so nervous about him taking the bus? Crazy?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

So the wires that were down that I was concerned about were moved to the side. Both boys (4, 6) are on the bus and on their way to school. Maybe it was because we were getting a new bus driver and I didn't know who. Come to find out it's the only bus driver I knew. She has a daughter in my 4 year old son's class.
All is good. They are safe. Thanks mommas!

A little, but considering the recent weather along the coast- pretty normal. My husband drove our route yesterday to be sure that we were safe on our way out to work!

No, you are a great mom who loves her baby. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. You don't say how old your son is, so I take it that he is in elementary or middle school. There will be a time when you feel comfortable letting him go--he'll be at an age where he's knows about stranger danger and other scary things, and he won't want you around because he'll be embarassed if his friends see him with his mom. But right now, trust your instincts, because you can never be too careful. I have a young son who I will be driving to and from school daily, and I have already been online checking to see if there are any sex offenders living around our routes.

yes ... but that's ok LOL I'm pretty sure there's no such thing as sanity ... just varying levels of insanity :)

And for the spelling police ... I know that's probably not right but I couldn't remember the correct way to spell it and I didn't feel like looking it up. LOL

Coli, you are not crazy. My oldest's GF has been with us past week, she is a freshman at college in a nearby city. Her campus is right on the Hudson River. Dorms were evacuated, and classes cancelled until today. When I brought her back to her dorm last night, I just had a very uneasy feeling about leaving her there. She who is a 18 yo college student, and not even my kid!

'Course if you don't want your kid to take the bus, just take him yourself. My kids have never taken the bus to school either. I don't have a reason, it's just NICE for them, and that's reason enough for me!

:)
