I've been giving my 4 year old Claritin every morning for a while now, her doctor just gave us some Nasonex. Can I give her both in the same day?

What can I do next?

Yes Nasonex is used with Allergy medicine. My DD takes Allegra twice a day and Flonaise (sp). I like Nasonex better but our insurance doesn't cover it any more. Using Allergy mists with a allergy med is perfectly fine.

Yes, I've taken both. Claritin and Nasonex are different chemicals and affect our body in different ways. Claritin is a long acting antihistamine that affects the whole body while Nasonex is a steroid and treats only the nasal passages.

You should've asked her doctor that. I don't know the answer to that one without googling it, sorry. I doubt the doctor would tell you to give two medications together if they aren't compatible, but still, you need to ask the doctor.

I want to say yes right away because my doctor gave them both the me at the same time. Apparently they work together, but in a 4 year old, I would call your pharmacist or a 24 hour pharmacy and see what they say. I would think its ok, but double checking is good.

There are no interactions to be concerned with here. Yes, give them both the same day.

For future reference, here is a wonderful tool: http://www.drugs.com/drug_interactions.html
