I am looking for a vacation for my family of four. I have a girl who is 7, and a boy who is almost 5. We would like to go on an all-inclusive vacation in June. I would love ideas on places people have loved. We love the beach, and trying new places. My husband loves waves and body surfing, so we would need a place with a nice beach with waves. We went to Puerto Vallarta last year, and loved it, but I do not like to go to the same place twice. Any help would be welcome. Thanks - J.

We have had really good luck with the Iberostar hotel chain. We have only stayed in the ones in Mexico, one in Cozumel and one on the Riviera Maya, but they have resorts all over the world. They are all inclusive and have fun activities going on all over the resorts for the kids all day long. Also, you might check into the "Beaches" chain. My husband and I stayed in a "Sandals" resort for our wedding in St. Lucia and it was wonderful. Beaches is their sister chain that is geared more toward families and kids and is also all inclusive. I have seen that some of their Beaches resorts have water parks for the kids and other stuff too. Hope this helps a little. Wishing you luck in your search and have fun on your family vacation!

Hi J.,
About 5 families go to Playa del Carmen almost every soring break. You land in Cancun & it's about 40 min. It has an unbelievable water park (seperate from the resorts), Mayan ruins so worth taking the kids to & several all inclusive resorts. You can pop over to Cancun too. The beaches very so be specific about your wishes. Maybe someone else will respond with an exact resort. My husband & I went to an adult only (to get away from the kids!!). We too are exploring going back with the kids when finances improve, we loved it there.

Hi J.,

Good for you for doing this with your family. Those kids are only kids once and you are creating great memories for them. Try Atlantis. It is geared around families and is a blast! Good luck with your vacation hunt.

How much do you want to spend? Beaches has places in Turks and Caicos and Jamaica, and caters to kids. We went to Cabo San Lucas - the Hotel Riu Palace, with 5 teens, a 1st grader, 6 month old and 6 adults, and had a GREAT time.

In January '07 my kids and I went to Playa del Carmen and stayed at the Riu Tequila, which was awesome!! The kids ate and stayed for free and had a blast!! They loved the kids club, the pool, beach, smoothies - we went to Xel-ha, which was amazing (I swam with dolphins)! They still talk about it to this day! My parents went as well, and have been to Puerta Vallarta, but liked Playa better. Have fun looking!!
