From what I can see the acnefree and proactive are the same and acnefree is much less expensive. The clean and clear only has one product with the benzoyl peroxide when the other two brands have the full treatment with benzoyl peroxide. With me that ingredient seems to be much more effective than the salicylic acid ingredient in everything else.

I took my daughter (16 on 12/27) to the dermatologist when she was 10 as a proactive approach. Neither I or hubby had issues with acne but we wanted to be proactive with her just in case.

She uses the Clinique line of products........dermatologist recommended. He also suggests OTC products... Purpose, Cetaphil

I've personally used Clinique since I was about 11. I am 49 and pass for early 30's HOWEVER..... that takes work on my part with my diet, facial cleansing routines, exercise, good genes, etc.

My daughter loves the Clinique line. It is guaranteed...you don't like it or it does not work, take it back.

We are both strong supporters of Clinique. (as is our dermatologist and his PA's) who are ranked on the highest level in this area. He or PA's are often on the news broadcasts with up to date new things and how to repair damage, etc.

honestly, none of those worked for me. i am 33 and have had acne for a long time. i finally found something that works. it's only a 2 step regimen, not tested on animals or loaded with chemicals, and not very expensive.

good luck!

on my face acnefree and proactiv had the same effect. Clearer skin sometimes not always. I have not tried clean and clear yet.

My son tried proactiv and it wasn't much help. We are now using Amway's Clear Now suppliment, and it works great. We were really surprised at how well it works. He had pretty bad acne, but his face is so much more clear now, almost totally clear. We do not sell Amway, so you would just need to go on their site and I'm sure they would link you up with someone.
{caveat: I am not a fan of Amway's marketing plan. But, I do love this one product.}

I have struggled with acne for many years. I had been using Proactiv with less and less success. Last January I began using acne.org products (there is also a LOT of useful information on the site, including user reviews of over-the-counter treatment available at drugstores). It is a non-profit, so he just tries to make the best products to help fight acne and the products are very inexpensive. For instance, I bought the facewash and the the benzoyl peroxide treatment, plus an AHA nighttime moisturizer in January and am only now having to reorder. I think I bought them all for about the same price as a month's worth of Proactiv.

Best of luck. It can be an embarrassing struggle,
K.

I really like Proactiv. I have used it for years. I use it in combination with Murad's line of acne products (you can buy them at Sephora or have them delivered like Proactiv). I have also recently started using the Bare Escentuals Acne line. I try and mix and match my products.

I have a dermatologist that I go to and I have had my gyno put me on the Pill. It took me a few different Pills until I found the right one that worked for me.

Really bad acne is usually a hormonal problem.

I found that the antibiotics that the dermatologist would prescribe never worked.

Peace.
