8 Year Old Having Accidents

My 8 year old son is having BM,s in his underware. We were at a skate park today and he was looking at this chain on his bike, then stood up and looked at me and said, "Mom, I just crapped my pants?" this has been going on for about 6-8 months now. Its not all the time but about 4-5 times a month. Please help, has anyone else had this problem? Any advice would be great.

What can I do next?

My son was have a smilar issue we took him to the doctor to make sure their was no issues. There was no issues physically, the doctor said it was more about him not making to the restroom because he is paying attention to other things. Well I explain to my son that I was not mad at him but he will start doing all the laudry if this kept up. Well I have to say that we have not had an accident in the past 3 months. Good luck

I would call your doctor or take him in. there could be a medical issue. better to be safe! good luck to you!

HI,
My kids have never had the problem but a friends son did. He had a paracite in his intestines that they think he got from a drinking fountain. He also smelled really bad most of the time because he would pass gas all the time too. He also had very bad breath for about 3 monthes before they found the paracite. The problem went on for about 2 years before they figure it out. It did start as uncontrolable BM's. Now I know this sounds really gross but the doctor said he sees it alot in school age kids because they don't care about germs or they just don't remember to wash and not put things in thier mouth. It wouldn't hurt to have that ruled out. I hope it gets better!

which one is having the bm, the one who is with you only on weekends ? Did you as his father if he is having that problem @ his house too ?
GOOD LUCK

I have 2 relatives that this happened to-
my brother did this until age 10 (I think-re age) because he was so constipated that when he got the urge he wouldn't go and then he would hold it and sometimes it couldn't be stopped.

Another -unfortunately was being abused both sexually and physically and he started having bowel issues- which is how it was brought to light. The abuser was never prosecuted because he refused to testify against a family member. He was put into therapy and is a well adjusted adult now.

Obviously- #1 is the most common and could be a likely cause for your sons...

My 9 year old won't tell me anything about his body because hes so shy about it- so I have to ask him daily about his bowels to make sure all is well.

Good luck!
