My daughter was not too fond of baby food either; she was more interested in eating what we were. So we started her on 'people food' fairly early - around 8 months. Just very, very small pieces of the food we were eating. Bread, crackers, and other dissolvable food worked well for us. Prior to that we couldn't go wrong with yogurt. She loved the Yo Baby yogurt and baby oatmeal with any type of pureed fruit mixed in. She didn't care at all for the canned baby food and now she is the best eater!! Hang in there and keep offering good food choices.

Both of my kids did not like the sippie cup, so I bought straw cups (love platex~about $4 at target). The only bottle my kids got was at night w/ cereal in it. I made my children's baby food. The only I bought was squash and other veggies when not in season, and sweet stuff that I could not make like dutch apple dessert. I bought canned veggies and rinsed them well and then took an imersion blender to them and jared them in the fridge for up to 1 week. We also gave them what we were eating chopped smaill (depending on amount of teeth) and that was not really seasoned. Good Luck

My kids all stopped eating baby food at 9 months. He may just want to expand his horizons and start eating what you are eating. Start with soft mushy things like bananas, toast and mashed potatoes. See how he does. I would give my kids a sippy cup during every meal. They didn't always use it sometimes they just played, but that is how they learn through their play. I started doing this once they were able to sit on their own in a high chair.

Eck, can you blame him? Ha!

My kids were ready for real, but soft food, at that age. Actually my daughters were such hungry babies they were both eating really watery oatmeal at 3 weeks.
The box of Gerber Rice Cereal was a lifesaver for me. See if he'll try it nice and warm.

Also, start putting things on his high chair tray and just see if he is ready. Try things like peas and carrots (frozen then microwaved/steamed), or fruit chunks.

Just keep a really good eye on him while he is trying this new stuff out so he doesn't gag (obviously) . OH - and get your camera - you might come across a "lemon face" or two.
