4 Weeks Pregnant with 2Nd Child and Hard Time Deciding on Lake Forest OB/GYN

Hi Everyone, I posted a question regarding OB's in Lake Forest back in Sept. when I was wondering which practices are available in the area. Based on all the responses I now have 4 practices I'm looking at and finally 4 weeks pregnant! So now I have to decide. I'm looking at OB/GYN Associates of Lake Forest, Lake Forest OB/GYN and Infertility, Westmoreland OB/GYN Associates, and Dr.'s Wong and Kim in Vernon Hills. It's so hard to decide something so important since I don't know any of them and have heard different views. Any additional experiences with these offices that could help me narrow it down? I would prefer female although not against a male OB. Thanks!

What can I do next?

Congratulations!

My ob/gyn is Dr. Christine Calvello as well. Love her! She delivered my son - who is now 3 - and she has the best bedside manner. Very attentive, informative, easy to talk to, just a wonderful person. She has two daughters, which is important for me because I needed someone who has been through the experience. By the way, she is in private practice.

If she isn't available or want another suggestion, my other suggestion would be Dr. Karen Mass. I only had her as a gynecologist but absolutely loved her.

Without getting into details, I have a friend who had a horrible experience with Dr. Scott Logan. My friend is very level-headed and isn't just pointing fingers. I will say this, his delayed reactions to her pregnancy issues caused a fatal end result.(he chalked her concerns up to first time mom)

Hope this helps! Let us know...:)

I LOVE Westmoreland OB/GYN. Dr Scott Logan has been my doctor for 6+ years now and he is wonderful. All the doctors in the practice are.

There are 2 Female doctors in the practice too. Dr Tanner Colegrove is FABULOUS! Dr Kelly London is kind of a hit or miss. But do-able.

Lake Forest Maternity wing is out of this world. I have delivered 2 babies there and am going to deliver there again in August. I can't wait!

I just saw this OB 1 time but I loved her. she did not deliver my babies at LFH but she is in practice by herself so I think she does her own deliveries. Anyway she has a great personality, fun bedside manor, attentive and answered all my questions. (I had a problem that she took care of).

Hi Maira,

I used Westmoreland OB/GYN when I was pregnant with my son. He was born 8-1-07. I was very happy with them. My main doctor was Adam Cohan. Towards the end of the pregnancy I had to go see the other doctors. When I went to see Dr. Logan, he found that I had high blood pressure. All of the doctors kept me under a close eye. They put me on best rest for almost 2 months because they did not want things to get worse. They did end up inducing me at 38 weeks because my blood pressure was very dangerous and I had pre-eclampsia by this time. I was worried because I did not want a c-section unless it was absolutely necessary. All the doctors told me they did not want to do a c-section unless it was necessary. They will do what they can to avoid it. I did not need one. Everything worked out great. They are very personable and they understand all your concerns. My husband went with me to all the appointments and they were great with him.

Good luck. I am sure who ever you choose will work out for you.
