2Nd Pregnancy Symptoms

My period is 5 days late & I have had a few mild pregnancy symptoms (minor fatigue, lower back aches, some nausea). During my first pregnancy I had all of these-only more intense-plus very sore boobs by this point in the process. Have any of you had different/a lack of symptoms in subsequent pregnancies? I'm a few days from being able to take a test and it's driving me crazy.

So What Happened?

I ended up miscarrying within 6-8 weeks. I knew something was off, I just had a bad feeling. Luckily, we conceived again after about 7 months and I'm now due in April. Thank you all for your responses.

You can take a test before your period is due, so just go buy a test rather than analzying everything. I've been pregnant 6 times with different symptoms for each.

Go take a test. You can test on the day you miss your period(or even before).

If your period is already 5 days late (or even if it was 5 days before) you can take an at-home-pregnancy test now. You don't have to wait.

I noticed my pregnancy symptoms sooner with the second, third, and fourth children. I also think you get more aches and pains and you show much sooner because of having kids before.

Hi,

I've been pregnant four times. Symptoms differed from pregnancy to pregnancy. Never had sore boobs. Take a test when appropriate. 'Til then, keep in mind the saying, "Patience is a virtue."

Best wishes,
Lynne

Hello K.. I'm sure you'll get a lot of the same responses, but each pregnancy is different. My first two were so wonderful, I seriously considered being a surrogate mom for the rest of my life (well, up until menopause that is! lol). Also, with those pregnancies, all of my tests, for the first three months, were negative, even though I "knew" I was pregnant. With my last one, everything was different. I felt pregnant immediately, from sore breasts, to severe nausea and fatigue. I took a test at 2 weeks (after my daughter's insistence, so I could get her to shut up because I just "knew" I wasn't pregnant) and it came out positive. Best of luck to you :)

Kathy, I'm sure you'll get similar messages but it's true when they say every pregnancy is different. With my first I threw up for the entire 9 months including during laber and right after delivery. I couldn't stand the smell of lamb, fish, shell fish, or pork. I was in bed by 7pm every night and had a fuzzy brain headache for most of the pregnancy. I also ended up on a month of bed rest. With my 2nd, I never threw up or even had any morning sickness. I had energy and could eat whatever I wanted. So, each pregnancy is different. Good luck and enjoy it!

Take a test. I just buy a bunch of them online so they are cheap. Then you don't feel bad taking them often. You can get them at

for .80 cents.

GOOD LUCK!

I agree with below, you can take a test now. Most tests are accurate from the first day of your missed period.
My symptoms were almost the same with both pregnancies, just some thing were more or less severe. I would just take a test now.Good luck!

Hello, I have four grown kids. With each pregnancy I had much less of the symptoms. By the time I was pregnant with the fourth, you wouldn't have even known.
Good luck with your precious family.

If you are feeling as if you are pregnant again, go to planned parenthood and get a blood test. This is what my daughter did when she was pregnant all four times. She felt the butterfly's in her stomach and went to get the blood test. She found out she was about six weeks along. You could also get this test done at your doctors office, but it can be done for free at planned parenthood (at least this is what my daughter told me). As I said, she went this route four times when she was either late or felt as if she were pregnant. Remember all pregnancies are very different, and your body will tell you at various times. Home pregnancy tests are not always as reliable as they appear. I heard once that the results of the home pregnancy tests are accurate sometimes, but not always. But, in either case it is you who will decide which route to take. Good Luck. If you are pregnant, Congratulation's.

Hi K.,
If you period is 5 days late, why wouldn't you take a test now? Go to the pharmacy and buy a test so you can take the guess work out of it.

if you are feeling you're probably are. With my second child I knew it before I took the pregnancy test. The funny thing was that it came out negative the first time, but i was completely sure I was pregnant. I wait like a week and I took it again and this time was of course positive. My husband thought I was nuts when I took the second test. Good luck
