Ok, first I would like to say yes he did sleep with us when he was first born. I know I'm wrong for that and know that is part of the problem. I've ask healthcare people and they say to just let him learn to put himself to sleep. I did that for 2 weeks, let him cry himself to sleep. It killed me. It worked for about 1 month. Now I'm back to the beginning. He refuses to sleep in his room/crib. Any thoughts? I need help I'm going crazy :)

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Well I gave him back his "nook", we were trying to break the habit. It helped a little bit. He sleeps in his crib part of the night and wakes up, then I put him in bed with us. I wish he would stay in his crib all night, but this will do for now. Thank for all the suggestions. This site is pretty cool

Try a cd player playing some soothing bedtime music. That has worked for my 3 1/2 yr old and before you know it he may just be asleep.

Let him sleep with you until he's a bit older and ready for a big bed.

I just wanted to say that I don't think it is wrong at all to have a family bed. If it's right for you and your husband then there is nothing wrong with it. It can cause problems being intimate, but we have a guest bed and with children your have to pretty much schedule everything anyway.

Sweetie, everyone will have an opinion. Lots of them will make you feel bad. Don't let them. Of course the books and doctors tell you to let them cry it out and so forth. I have a 10 and a 5 year old. I wasn't able to do either one of them that way. They sleep in their own beds. It worked out. Don't sweat it. If you want the baby to sleep with you two and you are able to sleep that way, THEN DO IT!

Sounds to me like you are a great mom and you deeply care for your baby. Do what you gotta do to survive the hard times. If I did it, I have complete faith that you can. I am no professional, but if you need to talk, send me a message!

I don't think there isanything wrong with letting your child sleep with you. Everyone is different. My almost 5 month old sleeps with me and sleeps all nite.
I would try this first
start out him in his crib or room and you stay with him sleeping near crib so you can pat him when he wakes, the next nite move farther and just softly speak to him when he wakes the next nite move to the door and the next see if he will soothe himself back to sleep. If this doesn't work just put him in your room in a crib or pack and play and see if he will sleep in there. If not let him sleep with you but make this the last resort. IF you are ok with it that is... Don't worry about what your family thinks it is none of their business as long as you and your hubby is ok with it.
I wouldn't do the cry out thing. I dont like that method. Good luck to you.
