My DD is in 1st grade and we were in the same dilema. We ended up buying a styrafoam triangular pyramid thing. You can buy stryafoam balls etc. At a craft store like Micheals then bought dum dum suckers and put 100 suckers and made a sucker tree. She has to do a project too and I wanted something creative and fun.

My kids always did 100 day t shirts. You just put on 100 of anything....stars, flowers etc. You can use fabric paint, stamps, wonder-under for fabric pieces, etc. Kids love to wear what they made. Have fun!

My nieces kindergarten class dressed up as though they were 100 years old. I thought that was really cute.

100 buttons on a pillow
100 fingerprints (you could use a pen and turn them into bugs or something)

Hi A.,
I'm a teacher and these are some of the projects I have seen over the years: Creations made with 100 legos or 100 sugar cubes, chains with 100 links, necklaces with 100 beads, collections of 100 shells/pennies/action figures...lots of people use posterboard/cardboard and create designs with 100 beans, pieces of cereal, candy, buttons, etc. (you could do a picture, your son's name, the number 100...). Sometimes people use posterboard and display 10 groups of 10 things. One family took 100 photos of the student's face (100 expressions). The sky's the limit! Good luck and have fun.

How about each student brings in 100 pennies to donate to a local charity?
Have each student share what they think the world will be like in 100 years. These are usually quite cute and creative thoughts. You can make this into a little book that they can save and read when the graduate from elementary school.
Have fun!

We did a long sleeve t-shirt, too. I found one of those foam paint brushes, it was round in shape -- so we used fabric paint and did 100 polka dots. She wore it again this year for her 100th day!

How about having all the kids bring in 100 snacks (m&m's, cheerios, raisins, etc.) and mix it together for a class snack?
