Your FAVORITE Books to Read to and with Your Children

I am collating a list of favorite books we read to our children... I am looking for a list of books that are enjoyable enough that children want to hear them over and over so much so that they eventually have most of it memorized....
Examples: Green Eggs and Ham (and all the Dr. Seuss), Where's My Teddy? by Jez Alborough, Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak

This list will be the model we use while supplying books for a reading incentive program with School on Wheels of Massachusetts (sowma.org)(Thanks to a generous grant from the Ronals McDonald House)

What can I do next?

So What Happened?™

Thank so much to everyone who sent along a list of their favorite books to read with and to their children. I brought your suggestions along with me to the Mobile Book Fair in Newton Highlands, MA last week. Joanna Channell, the program director of School on Wheels of MA. and I spent over 2 hours in book heaven choosing books to have on hand in resource libraries, and to give as gifts to children in local shelters. SOW not only provides school supplies and tutoring for these children, but we work diligently to inspire parents to make reading with their child an enjoyable and valuable experience. Please visit the SOW website (www.sowma.org) for more details on this program. Thanks so much, again, for your advice and kind words.
Warmly,
S.
