I know there are a lot of you moms out their that work from home so you can stay home with your kids. I have decided to work partime and take my kids out of daycare. The cost of is killing me and they aren't really happy there. I need to supplement my income. So how do you do it? What do you do? How do you get started? How do you know what is a scam? Any advise or reccomendations are greatly welcomed.

What can I do next?

I also agree that there are tons of scams out there so be careful. Try to avoid anything where you have to pay money to make money. I've been in some network marketing stuff that seemed fine on the outset, but you really have to be good at enrolling other people into your network to make any consistent money. Have you thought about in-home (licensed)childcare? I visited a lot of in-home childcares that were terrible, so I would think that there would be a market for super good in-homes with routines and learning and such. Other than that, I don't know of an "quick" way to work from home. What do you do and what skills do you have? Maybe we can all ask around to our friends--I love helping people find jobs that are right for them.

Good luck. I have been trying for 2 years with no luck. It either involves selling or you have to PAY to make any money. There are alot of scams out there and I am leary of it all.

Hi K.

How are you? I stay at home for just over a year now. I have a soon to be 10 yr. old and a 2 yr. old. I sell Silpada Jewelry to supplement my income and I love it. You should check out my web site www.mysilpada.com/L..pizzo, it is not for everyone but I have had great success and freedom with it. Good luck with whatever you find.

I picked up a paper route. I know that sounds funny, but I work about 3 hours per day and get home around 5am. This is long before my husband leaves for work and I am able to get back in bed and sleep for a couple more hours.

Don't mistake this for a paper route you might have done as a kid. This is a driving route and you usually throw the papers at the end of the driveways. I have about 200 papers per day and make about $750 per month. I also don't have to try and work while my son is awake (which for me is pointless).

Good luck.

This is a difficult decision for you, and you're smart to be asking for ideas. I think many SAHM families tighten the purse strings first. Beyond that, until you're making enough to supplement, you have to think about you and what you enjoy to find a great business opportunity. If you're in the Denver area, Colorado Free University has some great classes on how to get started owning a small business, ideas, marketing, etc. Once you have your idea, I strongly recommend taking The Millionaire Mind seminar, http://www.millionairemind.com/, which is offered in the Denver area every 6 months or so. It's a free 3 day training, they try to sell you other training, but the free 3 days is phenomenal. The training is based on the book, which you could check out from the library, too. Author is T. Harv Eker. It just really focuses on your mindset, and setting it for success.

A specific idea, if you like selling and kids toys and books, I think that a combination of Discovery Toys and Usborne books would be phenomenal.

Good luck!
