Winter Boots

What brand of winter boots do you buy for your kids? I have a five year old and an eight year old it seems like no matter what type I buy they always fall apart shortly after I buy them. Zippers break, toes section wears off. It's frustrating.

What can I do next?

Lands End boots work well for us. I just bought some yesterday for my girls and they were $20 each at Sears.

Sears has a 30% of Lands End sale at the moment.

Merrell's. They are fantastic and hard working. Now that my youngest is 2, he is starting to wear the boot hand me downs. I wouldn't buy any other. In fact, I even bought myself a pair to wear and they are the warmest and best boot I've ever worn.

My son has had the same snow boot for 3 years now they were very big when I bought them but he wanted to wear them they are still in good shape haven't feel apart from Kohl's they are warm waterproof with the rubber top,now my girls I just bought them a pair from Walmart for $17.00 they go up to her calf wrap around with wide velcro no zippers they fit nicely,my other toddler boot is from Target they were $19.99 they fit up her calf waterproof velcro on both sides of the boot.
All the boots I have are all waterproof have the hard rubber soles all around & fit above the ankles to lower calfs. They only wear them to play in the snow we hardly leave the house during winter if we do then they will wear them but my girls are still young so they won't be out in the snow for long hours at a time so I went with what was a good price a nice boot & they have all the other winter gear to keep them warm.

kamik they are pricey but you get what you pay for. I have never had a problem with them. My oldest will wear them for 2 seasons, pass them off to a cousin, then to another cousin, then they come back for my youngest, and then they go off to yet another cousin. So they get worn at least 6 winters with out falling apart and they stay just as warm. I try to buy them for my oldest off season. I am sure Columbia and LL Bean are great ones to buy too.

I just bought some Totes boots for them at Kohls that seem to be really good. They are waterproof which is good...many of the cheaper ones are only water resistant.

Kamik. They are expensive, but check ebay for used, usually you can get them for $20. They last FOREVER, so used are just fine. Worth every penny, I highly recommend them.

I buy my girls there boots from Payless shoesource, they have never fallen apart, the zippers never break, they last and I have been able to pass them down from sister to sister. They cost around $35. I work there and we are almost sold out already but so is walmart meijer and every where else.
